Several members in my family suffer from diabetes and this product has been a welcome gift for us - it does not taste like sugar, but the taste is similar .. CAUTION! DO NOT USE TOO MUCH because it is extremely sweet - for me one packet equals the sweeteness of 3 packets of sugar , and also if you put too much it will taste bitter. Stevia has been used for centuries in S. America as a traditional medicine for diabetics, and also I like the Stevita Supreme because is is blended with xylitol which has several health benefits such as prevention of tooth caries, prevention of the weakening of bones ( osteoporosis), prevention of ear and nose infections and helps control Candida yeast infections.

I was looking for a healthier alternative to Splenda. Stevia may be healthier but the taste is horrible. I will stick with Splenda for a while longer.

I was very sorry to see that this product contains Xylitol, a sugar alcohol which even in minute amounts, makes some people bloated, with other nasty symptoms including diahrreah and flatulence. It is used as a "flowing agent." Mine is getting tossed in the trash, unfortunately.

Pau darco tea, pau d'arco, stevia extract, rooibos and Ojibway tea, premium quality tree root is pretty darn plain. Tasted almost like menthol or something.
