My brother was doing some repairs for my Dad and fell in love with this flashlight, so my Mom had me order one for him. I decided to purchase this flashlight because of the brand name and from other reviews. 10/27/09 Rating: - Not really a good buy! This is my second flash light. I thought, the light would be amazing with 20 white LED's. But, its not that great. Also, when I received this product one of the 20 white LED's were not working. And, when I contacted the manufacturer to inform the same. I never heard back! The size is too big as well. Its not really that portable. If your looking for a good flash light and portable too. This wont be the right one for you! Rating: - Failed switch very minimal use Hello, I would strongly warn to avoid this particular flashlight, and related models. I purchased this light 9 months ago for a camping trip with my daughter, and it has seen very little use. I pulled it out the other day and when I turned it on the main switch malfunctioned. It feels like some sort of physical "jam", and it will no longer operate. I have contacted Smith and Wesson, who referred me to the manufacturer of the light (PowerTech Inc). I am waiting for feedback on whether they will fix it. The seem to require a receipt before they will do so. Unfortunately, I don't keep receipts for every small purchase, so I'm afraid I'm out of luck (I can't believe I'm the only one who doesn't keep receipts for such items). UPDATE: Company is standing behind product and offering replacement. They are not requiring original receipt. They offer a lifetime guarantee, which makes me more comfortable about their products. regards, s. Rating: - Pretty awesome flashlights These flashlights are quite good. There is a version that comes with red/blue instead of red/green. I ended up buying about four of these for some outdoor photography. It's not like the red or the green is super bright, but the white is bight enough for any use. These also serve as excellent flashlights for pilots flying at night (or just driving at night). Using red or green light is much safer than white light as it doesn't disable your night vision nearly as much as white light. see more
