Product Description: Smith & Wesson Powertech Galaxy 28 LED Flash-Lights SW2800RGW SW2800RBW Models: Smith & Wesson Powertech Galaxy 28 LED Flashlight - 20 White, 4 Red, 4 Blue Model SW2800RBW
Amazon.com Product Description: The dual-switch Smith & Wesson Galaxy 28 flashlight is designed with two separate on-off push buttons, providing a choice between a powerfully bright 20 White LED mode or two battery-efficient LED modes--4 red LED (for night vision) or 4 blue LED (for low light viewing)--without the confusion of a single switch mechanism. It features the latest MSAT switch technology which allows the white LEDs to operate on one switch while the color LED modes are activated on a separate switch. Ideal for aviation, outdoors, automotive, home, and professional use, the 20 LED mode provides a brilliant beam of white light perfect for general usage, while the 4 LED mode is ideal for conserving battery power and signaling and identifying targets at night without hampering night vision. It's constructed of precision-machined 6063 anodized aluminum for maximum resistance to corrosion and weather. The flashlight also includes 3 AAA batteries and a deluxe holster with a spare battery holder. It's backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

I've been using this flashlight for about 12 months and I'm still happy with it. It's well made and I would guess that it will pretty much last forever. For me, the main benefit was having the option of the red and blue lights. I do think that it could be brighter in the white LED mode but still works good at close range. It won't blind anyone!

I was pleased with construction and the light was adequate for my needs. The holster is decently contructed and even has a little side pouch for an extra set of batteries.
I switched to LED because I had become tired of the unreliability of standard bulb types like the Mag (whose quality has fallen off tremendously in the last few years, which is a shame considereing it was once the standard for reliability).
However, this light seems a bit "twitchy" about when its happy with the batteries. I wrote a very negative review last night because I thought it had died. Tried 2 sets of new batteries and nothing. Then this morning I took another look at it while messing with another cheaper light and it started working again. Same batteries.
I would recommend spending your money on something like the Fenix LD20; they have several that take standard batteries. If you're more budget minded, try a Streamlignt.

It's sturdy and will hold up to ton's of abuse. Also very bright. However, it eats through batteries fast! Also, there's not a focusable beam--which I'm finding is a big draw-back. Because of this, it's basically only good to about 10 feet. Look for a light with a focusable beam.

This flashlight sucks. Its extremely DIM! The looks and the feel are great but what good is that when the main function is so void of potency. The red / blue function is reasonably impressive but the button design is puzzling in that extra function applies to the secondary function and not the main light. This light has all of the perks and none of the fundamental qualities, not recommended, so lame. I live in the heart of a major city, my needs are not that high. Imagine having to actually rely on this for safety etc.

It's compact and has a bright pure white light. The red and blue lights are nice extras, and the buttons are easy to use one-handed. I use a wheelchair, and this is a nice addition to my backpack.
