Life's not easy when you're a nerd, especially when bullies rule the local Junior High school. Based on the graphic novel Shredderman: Secret Identity, Shredderman Rules is a Nickelodeon movie about Nolan Byrd (Ned’s Declassified’s Devon Werkheiser), a brainy Junior High school student who is incessantly picked on by the slow-witted school bully Bubba Bixby (Andrew Caldwell). Assigned a project of creating a multi-media report on an issue important to him by his teacher Mr. Green (Tim Meadows), Nolan seeks revenge against Bixby by secretly filming the bully in action and launching a website exposing his despicable behavior. The repercussions of Nolan's actions quickly grow as Bixby's anger boils over and Principal Voss gets involved and implicates Mr. Green in the scheme. I was excited to find the Shredderman available at Amazon but when I tried to show the DVD to my students after reading the book aloud, I was dissappointed. The end of the movie was unwatchable because it kept breaking up. I returned the DVD for credit.

while the movie is great fun and a good story, the outstanding feature of this video is devon's music video in the extras. i was quite surprised to hear his voice. it is not in the disney/nick genre. he was supposed to do a cd and i would certainly buy it.
