Had no idea that the expiration of my original filter was the cause of my reduced water output on my fridge, but switching it out with this Brita version fixed everything! No need to buy OEM...

Filter doesn't fit. Apparently need some sort of adapter which I assumed wasn't needed. This filter is of no use. Somebody should make it easier for idiots like me to realize the filter won't work on my model GE refer without the adapter.

I have been satisfied with Brita and their water pitcher filters, so I knew I could trust the refrigerator filter. I was even more pleased that it cost less than the OEM filter. The filter installed normally and is working great!

I ordered this filter as a replacement for a GE MWF to go in my GE refrigerator. Before installing I noticed that the filters are constructed somewhat differently. After installing, there was no water flow. So, I removed the filter. When I did, water started spraying from where the filter should fit in the refrigerator. So, not only did the Brita filter not allow any water flow, it also damaged the mechanism inside the refrigerator and the only way to stop the leaking water inside of the refrigerator was to reinsert the old GE filter.

We bought this filter to replace another brand in our GE side by side refrigerator. The filter was simple to install (despite the negative reviews here) and took less than five minutes. After running the water for three minutes as per the instructions, we had a little spurting for about a day.
Bottom line, if you can read four lines of instructions and have 4 minutes to spare to get great tasting water, this is the product for you.
