This product avoids that problem and keeps the GPS in place on the dashboard. I also bought it because I was afraid that attaching the GPS via the suction cup would make it a driving distraction on the windshield. This product keeps the gps in place and does not slide around. I use it with a Garmin Nuvi GPS system.
