Rating: - Good Quality Knife After six months of wear and tear, the only damage to the blade is some of the black finish getting scratched off. I generally don't like Smith & Wesson knives because of their shoddy construction and downright stupid blade designs. I don't even care for the blade design on this knife either, but it does work for small jobs. Personally, I've wished the false edge was sharpened (I could do it myself, though), the blade was bigger/heavier, and that the serrations were placed on the false edge side. It's a little handle-heavy, but otherwise well balanced for a folder and comes with a rather sharp edge. Unfortunately, it doesn't hold an edge for very long. If you need a ridged, cheap, cool looking knife, then go for it. Rating: - Good knife with less cost. I purchased this knife due to the fact that it was inexpensive and that I could lose it while deployed and not really care. It has been over a year now and the knife is still in great shape and is still sharp even after being used repeatedly. Rating: - An Amazing Knife This is an amazing knife. I was afraid anything that look so "special ops" would turn out to be a toy. Instead this is a great value and a good knife for the average guy. The blade is very sharp. The knife has a nice weight and grip. The black tanto blade is cool. I was surprised to find such a good knife at such a low price. I clip mine to my jean pocket when I putter around on weekends. Plan on buying another one for my tool box. Rating: - Good Value, But Flawed Design This is definitely a decent knife for this price range, but I would recommend it only for casual use or as a spare knife, and not something on which to rely in the backcountry. The major pros are that it has a decent edge, a compact profile, and only weighs 3oz. The major con is the design flaw with the lock spring that several other reviewers have mentioned. Once open and pressure is put on the blade edge, the spring over-travels and partially jams itself in the gap between the blade and the grip. When this happens, releasing the blade with one hand becomes nearly impossible and often requires two hands, or even a makeshift tool. Not only does this make operation of the knife annoying, it raises some safety concerns as the edge of the lock spring no longer maintains proper contact with the aft edge of the blade. Essentially, this knife is trying to be a CRKT M16, but the reality is that it doesn't have nearly the quality or the attention to detail of a good high-end knife. If you're on a budget and only need a knife for casual use, this is a decent value. However, if you need a knife for backcountry use with quality and reliability, then shop around for a bit higher-end knife like a CRKT, Benchmade, SOG, etc. You can often find them heavily discounted through Amazon, and score a $120+ knife for about $60 or less, e.g. the CRKT Triumph. Rating: - Awesome deal!!! Wow!! This knife is simply AMAZING for the price. I can't believe i only paid 10 bucks for it. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a reliable edc (every day carry) knife.
