I am not a big Elton fan, although I have enjoyed some of his music over the years. I am very much into blu-ray high def and love the dazzling sights and sounds of this technology. I recently came across this disc and knew I wanted to see it. My wife, who is a much bigger fan of Elton John than I am, immediately wanted to purchase this. I was not at all disappointed by this concert, and in fact, I must say, that it gave incredible new life to songs that are many years old. The concert was long, over three hours, but it actually was an incredible amount of fun to see and hear. The music itself was varied and fantastic. The high def picture and sound of this blu ray edition was nothing short of amazing. I watched it on an LG BH200 hi def player, which is connected to a Toshiba 42 in 1080p LCD television. My wife and I were both blown away by the dazzling crisp, clear, razor-sharp images of the video and the 5.1 DD surround sound. I could not be happier with the performance and it is certainly the next best thing to being at this concert in person. Happy 60th birthday Elton and THANK YOU for a most enjoyable concert! Rating: - Good Blu-ray disc visually and sonically I was looking around for some concerts on Blu-ray disc now that I have a player. This is extremely good as far as the picture quality goes. The audio quality is very good as well. If you like Elton John and are ready to see what your HDTV and Blu-ray disc player can do I think you'll like this one. If you don't have a Dolby Digital surround sound system you'll be missing a lot as I'm sure the little speakers on even a high quality TV won't deliver the sound or experience the producers had in mind. Rating: - Elton John can do it Live Not every singer has the ability to sing live, Elton John does, and he is 60 in this concert (A great age for real achievements and accomplishments to be realized) His ability to perform live is why I think in addition to selling studio albums (tallied by SoundScan) he does well in his television concerts: The Red Piano in 2005, NBC/TV had 8.3 million viewers according to Nielsen Media Research. I think that one of his best live concerts was in 2008, Hillary Clinton for President (and, Hillary Clinton received more votes than any other Presidential Primary candidate in the history of the United States) Rating: - Elton John High quality Blu-ray disk, was a little dissapointed with the first half of the disk that had songs I never heard before but I would still reccomend it. Rating: - Elton's Still Got it at 60 Simply superb. Good camera work, Elton sounds superb - and its all the old, great EJ material. Everything sounds and looks as good as as if you were there - only better because you're not stuck in one seat - without the contact high. Highly recommended as a long-time Elton fan who has every single CD he ever produced.
