About Speedo In 1914, Speedo was founded in Australia by Alexander MacRae, a 22-year-old Scottish immigrant who arrived in the country in 1910. The company began when MacRae Hosiery manufacturers, established by Alexander in 1914, extended the manufacture of underwear to swimwear and became MacRae Knitting Mills. A naming competition was held by the staff in 1928 and won by a Captain Parsonson, who coined the slogan, "Speed on in your Speedos." In 1929, the first swimsuits were in production and it didn't take long for Speedo to successfully establish itself. World War II caused the brand turn over 90% of it's manufacturing to war production, providing the armed services with vital equipment such as mosquito nets. After the war, Speedo opened a new factory and was able to re-establish itself, due to increased demand for swimsuits. In 1951, Speedo Knitting Mills (Holdings) Ltd, was incorporated and became a publicly traded company on the Sydney Stock exchange.
Speedo hit the international stage in earnest, at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, and a few years later the brand grew on a more global scale. Export sales to the USA began and an international division was set up to monitor trade in New Zealand, Japan and South Africa. The expansion of the brand continued, and in 1976, Speedo was appointed as the official swimwear for the 1976 Montreal Olympics, where 52 out of 54 countries wore their swimsuits.
Speedo continues to make its mark in the pool and on the beach today. Many world class athletes who wear Speedo include U.S. phenomenon Michael Phelps, legendary Australian swimmer Grant Hackett, world record holder Kosuke Kitajima from Japan, and Holland's Inge de Bruijn.

Bought two of these for a trip to Cancun. They look nice in the box, but once I got them out they look cheap and not very well designed. My wives mask pin that holds the strap tight busted. My mask was ok, but both of our snorkels always had water in it, it was because of the stupid little rubble valve on the bottom. We were pissed because this was the first time we used them. We had to use the resorts gear which worked properly.
These were a complete wast of money and time. Buyer beware!

The mask and snorkel works pretty well, no issues noticed under the water.
The only thing that was annoying is the band regulation. Once set-up it keeps the size, althought it is hard to change it. After removing the band, in order to attach snorkel, I could not reassemble it to original position (no tools, just fingers, in the water). Also it seems to be little small, there is no much room left for expanding the strap. Anti-fog seems to be working somehow, as it was possible to spend more time in the water then with other masks. I would recommend it to beginners, but in the future would buy better one = more expensive.

Per prior reviews there is a mild odor not at all as bad as indicated on other reviews. However I have to agree if you are not familiar with snorkel equipment (I am not) Attaching the snorkel is difficult. You have to pull the strap out of the mask, situate the snorkelcorrectly then slide the mask strap thru the rubber attachment on the snorkel. Then I had to use a metal skewer to get the strap back thru its casing on the mask as the end of the strap flops over when you try to push it thru. Really ticked off about the fact that I didn't catch that this product was half the price on the speedo site compared to Amazon and I bought 4 of them! Haven't tested it in the water yet cruising the Caribbean in one month....

I am a certified diver and I have tried masks/snorkels in a variety of price ranges. This set is just fine for all applications (as long as it fits your face properly...which you won't know until you receive it.)

This worked well, as the mask did not slip and was very comfortable. Great product at a great price!
