This is a wonderful little projector clock. It projects large red numerals including AM or PM, yet it doesn't light up the room. There is a red circular halo around the numbers, but not a all disturbing. It has an electronic 180 degree rotation function. Otherwise, you will have to rotate the clock itself. It would have been nice if there had been a manual or electronic 90 degree rotation function so you could see the time on the clock without looking at the ceiling to see the time. For instance, if you are sleeping on your side, you cannot see the time on the clock without either rotating the clock or looking at the ceiling. It is easier roll over onto your back and look at the ceiling than rotate the clock. While the clock is plugged into the wall, there is a mild green backlight on the clock itself. I have found no way to turn the backlight off other than to unplug the power. But it isn't a problem. The automatic time setting function works excellent here in Houston. It is quite quick, faster than other clocks I have with this function. Anyway, I am very pleased with this clock and feel it is well worth the expense.

The product works well as advertised. One thing that can't be done is rotating the project image without physically moving the clock itself. Setting the clock is not necessary as it is set automatically; however, the timezone must be set manually if you do not live in Pacific Time zone. The manual is rather poor at explaining how that can be done.

I purchased this clock because I already own one and love it. My second one, however, shows the wrong time (always six hours behind) once or twice a week for a long block of time. My original clock shows the correct time during these mishaps, so I ordered a replacement. Amazon was great about that, shipping it within 24 hours. So we'll see...

This clock was exactly what I was looking for and worked just as advertised for me. Unfortunately it set itself to the incorrect time. As other users have reported, one morning it was an hour off. I called Oregon and they sent out a replacement unit but since it happened only once is several months, and others reported the same problem, how do I know it won't happen with the new unit again?
I have 3 other Oregon atomic clocks and have had two other brands and never ran into this before.
I am using this in my office for accurate time on my desk and not as an alarm clock nor a projection clock - so I'm not reviewing those features. I will say that the best projection clock I had was a different Oregon model that was able to change to angle and direction of the projection beam - something this model wouldn't do.
For the review(s) that indicated the projection beam would not stay on - you have to have the clock on AC adaptor in order for the projection to stay on, or else it is just on for a few seconds after pushing on the top - a battery saving feature common to every projection clock I've ever seen.

We've used this clock for several nights now and really like the projection image. We both wear contacts and can still decipher what time it is in the middle of the night!
However, the alarm is SO quiet. I'm not sure it would wake me from a deep sleep. Luckily, I'm usually awake when the actual alarm chimes. Also, we like that it has two alarms.
The "atomic" feature didn't work because apparently we are more than 2000 miles from Ft. Collins, CO. My husband likes to set the clock ten minutes ahead, so we just shut that feature off.
It includes batteries, which is good. It is compact and doesn't take up much room on the nightstand. Set-up was easy and instructions were clear.
For the money, I am very pleased with this purchase. I love just looking at the ceiling at night instead of trying to peer over my spouse!
