Amazon.com: An in-name-only sequel to the 2005 supernatural thriller with Michael Keaton, White Noise 2 mixes two well-documented paranormal experiences--EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) and NDE (Near Death Experience)--in its story of an unusual gift granted in the wake of a tragedy. The likable Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Desperate Housewives) stars as a man whose near-death experience following the murder of his wife and son grants him the ability to see a halo around those whose death is imminent. Naturally, he sets about to prevent these untimely demises, but discovers that tampering with predestination attracts the attention of sinister forces. Professionally lensed and heavy with visual effects (as well as one impressive set piece involving a falling grand piano), White Noise 2 is buoyed by Fillion and Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, The Bionic Woman) as the cheery nurse who helps him deal with his grief; unfortunately, they're stuck with a dreary and overly complicated script that attempts to assimilate far too many horror movie clichés into one picture. Extras include a whopping 33 minutes of deleted scenes, interviews with real-life individuals who have endured NDE, a short making-of featurette, and a walking tour with Fillion of the allegedly haunted asylum that served as one of the film's locations. -- Paul Gaita
Description: Enter a terrifying new dimension in communication with the dead: The Near-Death Experience. What would you do if you could tell who was about to die? Would you try to save innocent lives? After barely escaping a near-death experience, Abe Dale (Nathan Fillion, Serenity) discovers that he has been granted a mysterious ability. But using this dark gift means interfering with the natural order of life and death, a choice that comes with a heavy price. Also starring Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica), White Noise 2 explores an unthinkable and evil dimension in communication with the dead.

Nathan Fillion and Katee Sackhoff, thats neat ! It was a fast paced cool movie with the top reps from Firefly and Battlestar doing something different.

This movie is a somewhat confused, mish-mash of ideas that plays like a cross between The Sixth Sense and Final Destination. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense and the plot unravels badly towards the unconvincing ending, but the effects are pretty good and the story works reasonably well for the first hour or so. This is a perfectly watchable movie, despite the aforementioned shortcomings, and the effects are impressive most of the time and do cause a few jolts. Overall, not bad but not especially good. Oh, and there's a none-too-subtle reference to Don't Look Now.

Well acted, but very situation contrived. That took away from the whole concept for me. The plot involves the grand concept of that when people are to die, they should die when they are supposed to. And if you try to change the course of things, there will be a price. So being that said, you know everyone is going to die. Every scene is predictably manipulated for the obvious out come. No surprises.
It does have some well crafted scenes. The balcony piano scene is VERY well done.....reminds me of In Dreamswhen Annette Benning falls from the bridge.
For a rental, it's cool. Actors are wonderful...but a weak, contived plot ruins it.

In white noise 2 a seemingly happy family ,man, wife & child, suddenly experience a tragic turn at the hands of a deranged man..While at a diner having lunch the wife and child suffer from some sudden convulsive malady..Just as suddenly a stranger walks up to them and shoots them both..Instead of also killing the husband the stranger apologises and turns the gun on himself..So begins the direct-to-video "sequel"to "white noise"
The distraught husband attempts suicide only to be brought back after being clinicly dead, and thereafter becomes able to"see" which folks are about to die..He saves a few ,finds out that the fellow who gunned down his wife and child did not die from his own self-inflicted wounds but is alive and in a mental institution...
It is at this point that"white noise 2" goes horribly wrong, introducing bizarre religious symbolism,half-baked bible interpretation, and satanic intervention into the mix, dragging the film into a mire of idiotic proportions...Sure,I know,it's only a movie, and one that never played on the big screen to boot,but,really...If someone has all of the money that was wasted on this film to spare why not use it to feed the hungry or something similiar, rather than using it to make this most absurd film..
The production values were quite good, but production values alone do not a decent feature film make..No..What is needed from the get-go is a coherent script, and not something that zig-zags all over the place, making little or no sense whatsoever..I feel sorry for the actors and actresses..They did thier best, but in the end, thier best was not good enough...
