Product Description: EXPLORE THE MYSTERIOUS OCEAN IN THIS RIVETING 4- DVD COLLECTION
Two-thirds of the Earth s surface is covered by water, and beneath the waves exists an entire living world, rarely seen by human eyes. Beautiful reefs, exotic fish, fierce predators and sunken ships are just some of the treasures uncovered by renowned naturalist filmmaker John Stoneman as he ventures below the surface. Swim safely amongst predators in The Savage Reef and Killers of the Deep. Explore beautiful and densely populated coral reefs in Coral World and Shipwrecks. Study the daily lives and sometimes strange habits of coral reef creatures in Shadowland and Creatures of the Sand. Finally, investigate the legend of the Bermuda Triangle in The Mysterious Sea and understand the devastating toll pollution and over-fishing are taking on The Fragile Ocean. Dive deep beneath the surface of Planet Ocean and experience the habitat and marine life up close, as few have done before.
VOLUME I The Savage Reef (30 min) The Coral Reef is not only one of the most diverse communities within the animal kingdom, but also one of the fiercest, with an overwhelming number of natural predators. Dive deep with John Stoneman as he studies these marauders, from tiny slugs and corals to mighty sharks. Shipwrecks (30 min) During World War II, nearly 100 ships, planes and submarines were sunk in Micronesia s Truk Lagoon. Many of the wrecks have now become artificial reefs, attracting a wide range of corals, fish life and interested divers like John Stoneman.
VOLUME II Shadowland (30 min) Even fish need sleep, but what happens when night falls and nocturnal predators awake? John Stoneman swims the Caribbean coral reef at night to better understand the unique balance between day and night. The Mysterious Sea (30 min) Many tall tales have been told about the sea, but which stories are fact and which are fiction? Join John Stoneman as he explores the Bermuda Triangle and other legends that make the Caribbean such a fascinating place.
VOLUME III Coral World (30 min) The coral reef is the oldest ecosystem on the planet, home to more living organisms than any other habitat, including the rain forest. John Stoneman tours some of the most beautiful and prolific reefs in the world, including the Great Barrier Reef of Australia and the Red Sea Coral Reef of Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Creatures of the Sand (30 min) Follow John Stoneman as he studies some of the animals living in the sandy areas of the coral reef. Watch as the stingray feeds and some truly exotic and rarely seen creatures make themselves known.
VOLUME IV Killers of the Deep (30 min) A fascinating look at how and why ocean creatures attack others and defend themselves, and how the predatory bites and stings have been misinterpreted by humans over the years. The Fragile Ocean (30 min) Water covers two-thirds of the Earth s surface, and contained therein is a vast food supply and substantial mineral resources. Oceans also develop our weather systems and produce much of the oxygen we breathe, yet they are threatened by pollution and over-fishing. What can be done to save them?

Rating: - Beautiful underwater footage
This is a truly amazing collection of underwater films. Anyone who likes fish, sharks, the beauty that lives in the ocean or is interested in oceanic conservation will love this set. I've been watching it with my son who is really interested in this kind of stuff since going to the aquarium. We have both learned a lot.
