I give this DIRTY HARRY movie collection 5 STARS and 5 THUMPS UP it very good and the restored they did to this series is great specail features great the extras like the bage and wallet poster cards and book just to name some of the extras are great the price is fair.I give this movie collection my highst reactamendtion

DIRTY HARRY has stood the test of time and remains a classic film based on the mores of a modern society tempered with logical judgment of how to dispense justice to those unlawful individuals in that society. Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry is the personification of that tool of logical judgment much to the disdain of his superiors and to the legal system he works within. DIRTY HARRY and SUDDEN IMPACT are the two films that bring the motivations and morality of this character under close scrutiny as he comes full circle with a rather dichotomous approach to his job over the span of time of these two films. When I first saw SUDDEN IMPACT I thought Clint Eastwood had somehow sold out on the underlying essence of the character he had been portraying. He took the realistic base from the first three DIRTY HARRY films (DIRTY HARRY, MAGNUM FORCE and THE ENFORCER) and replaced it with some type of pseudo surrealistic parody that seemed so repulsive it bordered on bad taste to say the very least. However, after repeated viewing it started to grow on me and I actually wanted to watch it over and over. I couldn't get enough of it. It certainly was not the same Dirty Harry but it had a very blunt approach for dealing with crime and criminals. In the first three films the bureaucrats constantly accused Harry of crossing the line yet the audience knew Harry was right and the bureaucrats were just a bunch of crybaby liberals (at least that's what the directors wanted us to think). Those of you looking at this product and reading these reviews have probably already seen all or most of the movies and are considering buying this set because you like them. So ignore all the nonsense and ask yourself just this one question: Is there more value in buying this box set, or in obtaining each of these movies individually? The answer is indisputably in favor of the box set. Not just because the movies are cheaper as a group, but because of all the quality extras you get. I'm not talking about the cheesy poster reproductions and the silly police star, I'm talking about all the interviews and scholarly debates about the social impact of the movies that are included in the extras. By watching these you will discover for instance, why the studio decided to follow Dirty Harry with Magnum Force. Additionally, there is a bonus CD with an interesting feature about Clint Eastwood's career.
Dirty Harry is as popular today as he ever was largely because some of the same problems addressed in the films are still with us today: a justice system where it is difficult for the victims of crime to receive real justice, money and influence buying lenient treatment, rampant political correctness, and a press with an attitude that assumes the police are nearly always wrong when it comes to any high-profile case or any case involving any of the press' pet roster of the "oppressed". The remastered films look and sound fantastic! I could do without the little wallet and badge but the included booklet describing each film and it's actors is really nice. Definitely worth the money and a fine addition to my collection.
