I purchased this product to replace an older version that died. That one lasted nearly 10 years. Even the last six months of the older product worked better than this new one. Hardly any steam ever comes out. It is extremely noisy when it first gets going (for a good 10 to 15 minutes). If I run it all night bearly any water has been used. The instructions indicate the use of salt to increase steam production where water is soft. Even though we have hard water where I live I did try the salt but it just made the device noisier. Save the $15 and buy something better.
