Rating: - If you love TESLA, you'll love this DVD
TESLA flew under the radar during the 80's, for the most part, though they had several 'hits' along the way. Very under-rated band with the lead guitarist being almost a complete unknown for someone so talented! They play a very tight set here, they look good and sound great. Just enough interviews and tidbits to make it a nice package - not to mention, a very inexpensive one. Enjoy...it brought back lots of memories for me.
Rating: - Worth every cent
really great example of great rock band doing what they do best. the performance, the camera work, the additional content...and I recomennd that not only to Tesla fans, but to all rockfans.
Rating: - Gettin' better
Well, at least we now know what happened to Tommy Skeoch; Brian "Buck" Wheat ate him and Frank Hannon had the left overs :) Kidding aside, this is a great DVD, but could have been better. Jeff Keith's voice seems really raspy these days, almost to the point of being bothersome. Plus we find out he's a Raiders fan- nuff said. The extras are ok, the boys coming across as a little dull, but hey, isn't that why we all fell in love with Tesla in the first place? I was also disappointed with the crowd response; they could have been served better recording a performance in their hometown of Sacramento. The venue seemed it was chosen for the stage size and logistics for recording the DVD. A highlight for me was RockBottom, the old UFO chestnut. But again, the crowd didn't seem into it at all (maybe they just don't remember UFO anymore). They should have done a Montrose cover instead. Set-list wise, I would have had more Mechanical Resonance. Over-all, great, but not 5 stars.
Rating: - Great band, Slacker DVD authoring company
The 4 stars are for the band who deserve 5. These guys rock.
The missing star if for whoever encoded the audio and ripped off the consumers. It is advertised as Dolby Digital 5.1, but the only audio channel on the DVD is Dolby 2.0.
Rating: - I love those lazy days and crazy nights
I've been a fan of Tesla for a very long time and I think they're one of the best bands of our time and I'm very happy to finally have a Tesla concert on dvd, I watched it last night and I was thrilled, after all this time Tesla still rocks hard, "getting better every day", just a little detail, some information from the backcover is wrong, concert running time is 126 minutes and not 2 ½ hrs. and audio is dolby 2.0 and not 5.1, still is very good, anyway this is a magnificent concert that every Tesla fan would enjoy, full of energy and power enough to bring you back to life again, great concert thank you Tesla.
