Amazon.com: Bakugan: Battle Brawlers(2007) is a cartoon adaptation of the popular strategy game created by Sega Toys and Spin Master. Dan Kuso and his five on-line friends started playing Bakugan when game cards inexplicably fell from the sky. Using combinations of cards and special marbles that turn into monsters, they fight duels and win points. Dan loudly proclaims he's going to become the all-time champion. He and his friends learn that Bakugan monsters have lives in the dimension of Vestroia. But the mysterious gamer Masquerade is destroying the monsters he defeats by sending them to the Doom Dimension. Battle Brawlers plays like a cross between Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon. With his spikey hair, fingerless gloves and goggles, Dan looks like numerous other shonen (boys) anime heros; he's nicer than Yugi, but he lacks Ash's good heart. Battle Brawlers will appeal primarily to fans of the original game. (Unrated, suitable for ages: 8 and older: cartoon violence) --Charles Solomon

Rating: - Watch Your Bakugan !
"Bakugan Battle Brawlers" seems to be another one of your garden variety anime series where creepy creatures emerge out of trading cards (i.e. "Yu-Gi-Oh GX" and "Duel Masters", two shows that were on Cartoon Network previously). This show, however, is a little different. Yes, the show has kids throwing down trading cards with monsters and things printed on them, but also, they toss tiny plastic balls that pop out into small creature forms, and when it's battle time, look out !
Join Dan and his friends as they travel into a parallel universe and try to save the world from destruction in five action-packed episodes on this DVD. Plus, as a neat bonus, there's an exclusive Bakugan trading card enclosed with the DVD.
Whether you're watching the series, playing the game yourself, or both, you'll know there's going to be a sweet battle coming your way ! Watch new episodes on Cartoon Network's "Dynamite Action Squad" on Saturday mornings and look for "Bakugan Battle Brawlers: Vol. 2" coming soon.
Rating: - Less annoying than Pokemon
My 4 year old daughter has not stopped watching it, but I bought it for my 7 year son! The theme song is very catchy.
Rating: - Decent show. Hate the packaging.
My boys love the show and watch it regularly. I have already purchased the entire season from a legitimate download store months ago, so I dislike the fact that The entire season will cost $30 list to buy on 3 separate DVDs.
The entire season should be available for $20 list, preferably less. The producers appear to be delivering customers to the legal download stores. Good news for the download services, less so for DVD retailers.
