The Magellan Maestro 4250 does not have the latest street information, and Magellan suggested I upgrade ($99) to have the latest. For example, I live at 2702 Dafoe street and I can only enter no number greater than 2699. Of course, I can always go across the street to my place. Also there are many streets that are not allowed to be entered. As a result, I am trying to sell my Maestro 4250, it is unusable in its current state. Even after downloading the latest firmware.

This unit arrived DOA. It did not have any US Map. It seems to work but not usable without the map that should have been pre-loaded. It was a waste of my time and the vendor's time. Vendor offered to replaced it but decided to take the refund. I could not take the risk of having to go through the effort of making it to work which should have been checked by the vendor in the first place.

The magellan 4250 is a wonderful gps system with many features. It is easy to set up and use.

I can't live without this GPS... I don't know how I managed to travel through out the years before this product came out. I recently took my son to WAshington DC and believe me I would have been a mess without it. I love the feature that allows you to find gas stations and food places too. I mistakenly left my first GPS in my window and it was stolen, so Amazon offering the refurbished product was a great way to replace it without the higher cost and it works just like new. Thanks Amazon!

My sister ownes the 4250 for over a year and we easily see why every driver should have one. It will always get you to your destination even if detoured. recently i ordered the 5310 but returned it a day later after i learned the best feature that was in the 4250 has been removed and that is voice recognition. Why they would not include this in every model from the 4250 on is just insane and makes using them more dangerous so I'm ordering the 4250 for myself. If you want to know what it's all about just go to Magellan web site and pick the 4250 unit and click on voice commands, there is a video that will explain why it's so important. Don't worry about buying a referb, my sister did and it has always been fine and if your a AAA subscriber they will existent the warranty. This is something new, they will give you a free map upgrade if you register and call within the first 30 days just look at the left of the screen for the words "magellan 30 day map guarantee". This is an excellent unit and one worth buying!
