Rating: - Olympus SP-565UZ I have had the camera for about a month now and am spending a lot of time learning how to use it. It is a liitle smaller than I imagined but as I only have full use of one hand, it is very satisfactory. There are many very nice features, one that I really like is Panorama. It works very well. I especially like the fact that it uses "AA" batteries. Good rechargables give me many pictures and I haven't run out of power, yet. I normally keep 2 sets of batteries available and after shooting photos, replace the used ones with ones that have been recharged. I am still undecided about a focusing issue where it doesn't seem as sharp as it could be but am experimenting with different settings. I guess, time will tell. It has numerous scene modes, high speed modes, and the best thing I like as an ametuer, they have a mode called GUIDE, where it will guide you to change it to specific modes based on the situation you need. overall, a great camera!!! Rating: - Great Camera! Great camera! Easy to take pictures. Pictures are high quality. Lots of manual features which I also wanted. Also easy to take quick pics on auto with no manual selections. I purchased a small Casio Exilim about the same time and the Olympus totally leaves that camera in the dust as far as a quality image is concerned. I'm very pleased with the Olympus. I researched, for three weeks, all major competitors (including, Sony, Panasonic, Fujifilm, Nikon and Cannon)and this easily beat them all in terms of features and optics. After using this camera, all my expectations were EXCEEDED. This camera is incredible! Please note, that this is not a simple 'point-and-shoot' camera. While it may be utilized as such, you will probably be disappointed at the results. I was looking for a 'bridge' camera - something beyond a simple point and shoot, but not as complex as a DSLR. This fits the bill PEFECTLY. You have the ability to control as much,or little,as you like with stunning results. While I have heard of others complaining regading navigating the camera and its functions, I found it to be a snap to learn in less than a day. I cannot highly enough recommend this camera to anyone on a budget that is looking for a quality 'bridge' camera. If you'd like, do your own research, Im certain you'll come to the same conclusion for the price- there simply is no other reasonable alternative to this camera by any other manufactuer for the price. Buy this camera and you'll feel like an Olympian (with no buyer's remorse to boot)!
