![]() Rating: - Lotta Bang for the Buck Here...Got this a few months ago (to replace the stock stereo in my '01 S10, wanted either aux or mp3-cd capability and got both with this). Very good sound from both cd and aux, good equalizer presets (and good customization possibilities if you tune it yourself), normal controls are fairly intuitive; but as others have mentioned keep the manual around for doing anything other than playing music. Excellent price, I've recommended this unit to a few friends since and we're all happy. Sure, it's not an audiophile's playtoy; but for those of us who listen to music, not the system, it's more than adequate. Rating: - Wattage for less....This little puppy is pretty darn fair for the buck, puts qaulity sound at your control, depending on your choice of speakers. It will flat crank...I not saying it will out do a $1200 or $2000 system, but for the money , it's an outstanding value...JVC is good. Worthy Rating: - Don't need frivolous features? Get it.My guess is that this radio is more than suitable for 90% of the public in the way they use their radios, or more. This is the first radio I ever installed into a vehicle, and it was a success. On the positive side the sound is excellent, the price is cheap compared to units at big box stores, and it comes with a front AUX-IN port. I chiefly bought this radio because of the price and the aux port, as I have an MP3 player and don't listen to much radio aside to NPR. However, I do listen to music on the radio every once and again, and the radio is missing a couple of features that are standard on stock cars these days that I've seen. Namely, it doesn't display radio broadcast track information (I suppose this isn't a big deal, as half the time the radio stations around here only use the space to advertise their own name rather than inform me of the current track's details). I would've expected a radio that can display CD ID3 tags to do this, oh well. The faceplate seems to've come from a different model radio, as I see an unlit bluetooth icon on the upper left of the display when it has power, but there's no bluetooth functionality. Perhaps this is subtle teasing on JVC's part? Since there's no USB port there's also no way for it to directly interface with an iPod--but I knew I wasn't getting that when I bought it, but it's something to keep in mind. If you really want such a feature look elsewhere. Bottom line is it works, it's affordable, it sounds great, and hasn't given me any trouble yet. Rating: - Great stereo for my '69 F250!I love this unit! I have been using it for a month now, and have had absolutely no problems with it. I have it installed in a 1969 Ford F250, which gets used like a truck. Radio reception is very good, and I get no skips when playing CD's. The directions on installation were clear, and I got it wired up with no trouble. Installed it using a METRA Ltd 99-9222 Radio Install Kit for a Volvo.[...] I really like the fact that the faceplate is removable. My truck is parked behind my house, so the removable faceplate is a good theft deterrent. I haven't used the remote control yet, so I can't really comment on that. But if you're looking for a great stereo at a great price, this is the one! Rating: - Great radioWorks great, easy to install, has a nice selection of options to tune your setup. Havnt used the remote at all so I cant comment on that. It sounds great, I dont have an amp and my car still shakes from bass hits. |
