T-Energy has been flowing through Ancaria since time immemorial. This mysterious power forms the beginning of all life, is the source of all magic and the origin of all thought. For eons the angelic Seraphim watched over the T-Energy and therefore over the fate of the entire world. But eventually tiring of their burden, they passed their knowledge on to the High Elves. T-Energy helped the realm of the High Elves to experience an unimaginable boost of prosperity, making it the reigning culture in Ancaria. But a force as powerful as T-Energy carries great dangers. Not taught how to deal with this, no sooner did the Elves take control, then a heated dispute erupted among them as to how and to what purpose the T-Energy was to be used. Dispute morphed into irresolvable conflict, then rift and eventually to a civil war among the High Elves, where all participants were losers. Their realm collapsed and with it the entire power structure of Anacaria. In the turmoil all the peoples of Anacaria coveted the right, either openly or in secret, to wield the power of T-Energy and in the end, unmanaged, the T-Energy raged out of control warping creature and lands alike. Can anyone regain control over the T-Energy. And if so, will he/she strive to prevent the world from lapsing into final chaos, or deepen it? Gameplay Gameplay in Sacred 2: Fallen Angel in divided into two campaign paths: Light and Dark. As the game begins players choose and customize their character and choose the path they will follow. This choice determines the ultimate goal and intentions of their character, and as the game progresses through literally hundreds of quests and side quests, the paths of different characters intersect at different junctions. Choose one way and you may be tasked to defend a town and its people, while another path could result in you attacking the same town. The choice is yours and the fate of the world and your well-being are at stake. Key Game Features:

![]() Rating: - Great followup to the originalIf you liked the original, this is more of the same. I was going to wait until the draconian DRM was patched out, but since Ascaron Entertainment had to file for bankruptcy I figure they got what was coming to them, and while the DRM is still present, the game being significantly cheaper than release. It is also an nVidia game, so those of us with ATI cards are SOL when it comes to all the PhysX effects (unless you cheat and do something nVidia doesn't want you to). Overall this game is much of the same that we got in the original, which includes the ability to focus in one skill and become all powerful. Rating: - I would not recomend itThe game when it runs is ok. It is a Diablo clone with full 3D rendering and some nice visual effects. The downside and its back-breaker is that its really badly bugged. I was playing though the campaign and was enjoying it when I had to alt-tab out. Since this happened the game only gives a network timeout error. Yes I have researched it and have worked on it for 3 days to be fixed and still Nada. When it fails to be corrected by an uninstall/reinstall, the game has some bad issues. For those that think I may be running the game on a less than qualified system, I can run Fallout 3 with all its settings turned up to max. Rating: - Addictive...Imersive and addicting gameplay. Bit of a steep learning curve but there are several good web sites / forums that get into all of the nuts and bolts... Been playing (single player patched to v2.4.3) for about a month and havn't hit any bugs or crashes, so looks like most of the bugs have been worked out. Rating: - Visually beautiful and lots of funBeen playing Sacred2 now since Nov (review date: 3/19/09), and am still having a blast. I enjoy exploring this fantasy realm and appreciate it's open approach, allowing me to stray from the core storyline and just have fun. Richly detailed in the design touches, you know when you enter a town if it is human or elven or orcish by the architecture and layout. Unlike most games where I get bored around the 3rd week, this one is showing no signs of getting old. I also enjoy the many humorous touches, such as the various voice bits, the occasional anachronism (what's a soccer ball doing in the sewer?) and funny quest like helping the band, Blind Guardian get their instruments back from undead metal heads, or helping Santa Ogre save Christmas. And the game world is vast. I'm not what you'd call a hardcore gamer, so in the months since I started playing I've only managed to explorer about 20% of the world. When I consider that there are 5 other characters to play, some with two storylines, light or dark, to choose from this could take me some time to finish. In game bugs encountered? Apart from the occasional "cow up in a tree", which is just funny, none. There was a patch bug bug in December that was difficult to get to install, but as I don't play on online this didn't impact me. Anyone thinking of getting this should try the demo first, or make sure who they buy it from has a good return policy. The game is great, but it is also demanding on your computer, both in graphics, and for the elite textures, in hard drive access. Standing beside shimmering stream, while dropping a blizzard on to an angry mob of skeletons with flaming swords, during sunset looks great, but it really stresses your graphics card. Rating: - awful set up.First, the DMR authentication process, requires you open port on your firewall just to even play the game in single player mode. That right to play in single player mode you need to ports on your firewall. Now if that part wasn't bad enough, when you run there current patch, it's fails. The instruction given by there support, is too, first delisence the product (over board DMR), then uninstall, then run a clean up agent. Shut down all running apps on your computer and reinstall. Then run a manual version of there patch. This is awful design and bad programing. I would recommend avoiding ascaron and cdv all together as a whole. Blind Guardian demo, isn't nice to include a, audio version of sacred. |
