Description:
Airdate 11/30/08 Monica Brown was only 18 years old when duty called. Brown, a U.S. medic in Afghanistan, was in a convoy when one vehicle hit a roadside bomb and burst into flames, critically injuring the soldiers inside. Trying to treat the men while under enemy fire, Brown threw herself over the wounded to protect them. For this bravery, Brown became the second woman since World War II to be awarded the Silver Star. Brown tells Lara Logan she was only doing her job.
