The first is almost a year old, still no problems just decided I need another charger and battery. I don't even know what the rating is on the original Canon battery, but this one works well. I can take about 800 pictures on one charge. Like all batteries it does not really warn you enough that it is not charged. The charge indicator goes to low when the battery is half drained, and then stays there until you can't take a picture. It is therefore tough to judge if you have enough power for the day when that reading is on the screen. So my fix was to get two. They are one tenth the cost of a battery and charger from Canon, or even the knock off brands at Best Buy and those kinds of stores. The charger works in the car or house, is small and compact, and is pretty fast (few hours to charge). If you buy this battery, all of your wildest dreams will come true.
