SHE LOVED THE DARK BLUE COLOR AND THE EASE OF USING IT...AS SHE GETS COMFORTABLE WITH THE CAMERA, SHE WILL BE ABLE TO USE ALL THE SETTINGS THAT ARE AVAILABLE...THEY ARE VERY EASY TO SELECT, AND THAT GIANT SCREEN FOR VIEWING IS JUST FABULOUS...I PLAYED WITH IT AND JUST LOVED ALL THE THINGS YOU CAN CHOOSE...ALSO THE FACT THAT IT USES 2 AA BATTERIES WAS A GREAT FEATURE, BUT THE BATTERIES DIDN'T SEEM TO LAST TOO LONG...I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL BE A COMMON THING, OR SHE JUST SNAPPED SO MANY PICTURES THE FIRST WEEK. If you are looking for quality pictures invest more money and purchase a higher quality camera. This camera is adequate for my needs as I purchased it for one reason... to be able to put it in my jacket pocket and take pictures while on motorcycle rides. For that purpose the camera does as advertised.
I will say the camera arrived in good order and delivery was extremely prompt.

Although this is my first personal digital camera, I have used my wife's camera for several years but got tired of losing editorial control...no different from the TV remote control. You husbands will understand.
I actually bought this model in September as a 9th birthday gift for my grandson and he immediately began using it without the need to read the instructions. Kids...
That impressed me so I bought the same Coolpix L20 for myself to use on long distance bicycle trips as well as supplementing our family digital camera. I too was able to learn its method of operation with minimal assistance from the users manual and even found some great features which the 9 year old hasn't yet discovered. The idea was for us to have the same camera so we could teach each other how best to use it.
I've used my Coolpix L20 now for a month and really love it's simplicity and ease of use, even taking videos. Its 10 MP chip provides plenty of data with which to edit and store great pictures. However, the delay in acquiring data to the memory card makes taking action shots such as sporting events nearly impossible. You will get blured pictures 90% of the time. Acquiring jpegs to your desk top is simple once you load the Nikon software. Be sure to temporarily disable the anti virus software first. Best of all, the Coolpix L20 is lightweight and easily stores in your pocket and I like the fact that it runs on AA batteries. And I was amazed at how inexpensive it was. It will be a perfect camera to supplement our existing one.

I'm one of the last people to jump on the digital camera bandwagon and boy, did I luck out by purchasing the Nikon Coolpix L20 camera. It is very easy to use, just point and click with great picture quality. I'm very pleased!
