Since pods are quite costly, less than satisfactory coffee is unacceptable. I tried Melitta filterpads, MyPod filters, Ecopads, Perfect Pod maker, etc., all with far less than satisfactory results. Finally, I bought a Keurig. Not only are K-Cups pricey (though Amazon has rock-bottom prices on a few brands), and wasteful (all that plastic for disposal), we haven't enjoyed the coffee as much and really missed "crema". Enter the Coffeeduck filter! Wow! Once ordered (based on reviews here), it arrived promptly. I was prepared to be disappointed (as other products I've tried have been favorably reviewed as well), but was not! This is beautifully designed, extremely easy to fill/empty and rinses clean easily, and produces a wonderful cup of coffee with beautiful crema! I am beyond thrilled. A rounded stainless coffee measure perfectly empties into the filter (with no need to brush grounds away). We're pleased with several Starbucks blends and ask the beans to be ground on the "Extra Fine" setting, though the occasional bag of pre-ground from the supermarket works just fine as well. The Senseo is not as modern and sleek as other one cup coffee makers, but it makes a really good cup of coffee - with crema - for an economical price. And, with the Coffeeduck filter, ours is back in service and we could not be more pleased. Rating: - almost, not quite the same as pods This product works well with the Senseo coffee maker I own. It allows me to make coffe using my own local cooffe or any coffe of choice in my coffee maker which relies on the use of Senseo coffee pods. So it works. However, I am unable to produce the rich frothy top that comes from use of the coffee pods. For whatever reason it almost makes the same cup of coffee but not quite. One of the reasons I own this coffee maker is for the frothy top that comes with a cup of coffee (European style, common to Dutch coffee shops). So an upside and a downside. Nevertheless, a nice product for use with your Coffee Maker that uses pods. Rating: - The Coffeeduck ROCKS! I really love this product! I bought the refillable PRESTO brand before and it caused the Senseo coffee maker to leak and just generally made a big mess every time I used it. This one fits right in and you put about a tablespoon of coffee in it, put on the cover and it makes wonderful foamy coffee from your regular brand of ground coffee. You also don't have to have any paper filters like you do with the PRESTO. I highly recommend it. Rating: - Works great in the Senseo I've been making my own pods for the last several years using the Perfect Pod system. I tend to go through a lot of pods, and they are a bit more pricey than I'd like. So I thought I would try one of these coffee ducks to use at home and save the pods for my Senseo machine at work. The duck works great and cleans up easily (although it is a lot messier to clean than simply throwing out a pod). Others have commented on leaking, but the duck leaks no more than a pod does with just a dribble or two coming down the snout at the start, but that falls right into the cup anyway--but the pods do the same thing. Like the prefect pod, I choose my coffee which is the only way to go! I would buy the duck again, and enjoy using it.
