Gameplay
WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 will introduce a new Create-a-Superstar Mode, including a fresh look, all-new 3D parts and improved graphical quality, allowing players to create Superstars and Divas who are comparable in quality with their in-game WWE counterparts. Adding to the creative mix, a new Paint Tool will enable detailed creation of tattoos, logos and other unique designs, while a franchise-first Superstar Threads feature will let players create alternate ring gear for Superstars and Divas by customizing the colors of shirts, pants, face paint, elbow pads, boots and more. The game's Create-a-Finisher Mode will now let players create acrobatic and gravity-defying diving attacks from the top turnbuckle, as well as move their creations to new heights by adjusting the trajectory. In addition, the mode will deliver an extensive assortment of new moves from the front grapple position.

Taking creativity even further, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 will also mark the debut of the WWE Story Designer. In this new mode, players will embrace a directorial role to create and customize their own storylines and cut scenes, including the ability to select talent and scene locations, write their own dialogue, adjust camera angles, select from over 100 scene animations, determine talent emotions and much more. Players will also be able to construct each night's show card with matches, unique match stipulations, interference events and other story twists and turns.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 is set to empower players with not only extensive creative freedom but the ability to share their gameplay experiences as well. For the first time in franchise history, the WWE Community Creations interface will enable players to upload their creations online, including created Superstars and Divas, story designs, finishing moves, entrance movies and highlight reels, and share them with others around the world. Players may also download created content via keyword search engine from other users for use both online and off-line. In addition, players will be able to tag their creations with search terms, as well as leave ratings, allowing for ease of use in searching the robust database for the most popular - or even the most obscure - created items.

Additional Gameplay Features
In addition to its extensive creative and online offerings, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 will include a number of key franchise updates. The WWE Training Facility will provide players with a franchise-first in-game tutorial, making it simple for both longtime fans and newcomers to get helpful gameplay tips and practice moves with their favorite Superstars and Divas. The game's Road to WrestleMania story-based mode, introduced last year to high acclaim by consumers and press alike, returns with interactive cut scenes showcased within six brand new storylines, including a Create-a-Superstar storyline and a Divas storyline. In addition, a robust talent roster will include more than 60 playable Superstars and Divas, many of whom will make their video game debut, as they represent the Raw, SmackDown and ECW brands. A high-profile soundtrack rounds out the gameplay experience, including "Still Unbroken," the new single from Lynyrd Skynyrd's upcoming album, God & Guns, as well as songs from artists such as Skillet, Sick Puppies, Adelita's Way and Trivium.

Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - True wrestling fan game!
Amazing game. If you are a true wrestling fan this game is a must have. So many features added and a very nicely improved roster.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - SVR 2010 = FAILURE
SVR 2010 is a colossal disappointment. The roster is nothing special. And that's being kind. No legends. No hall of famers. The game makes you go through season modes to unlock nobodies! Ezekial Jackson. The red or green practice dummy guys. Eve the diva. No Hulk Hogan. No Andre the Giant. No Roddy Piper. No Junkyard Dog. No Iron Sheik. Of course there are a hundred other wrestlers this game should have, but you get the idea. Give me a break, THQ. Unlock an old man Dusty Rhoads? Old man Bob Orton? OMG! At least put in a Capt. Lou Albano or a Jimmy Hart or somebody. King Kong Bundy. On the plus side they do include the Rock and Stone Cold (if you preorder from another store--not Amazon btw). That is shameless. EVERYBODY who preorders should get the Steve Austin character--c'mon THQ! Not fair.

Online play is HORRIBLE! JUST HORRIBLE! It is slow and glitchy. It is full of those noob players who create silly-looking characters and assign all the moves that are impossible or unreasonably difficult to counter. The response time is RIDICULOUS. Whatever buttons you press, the effects of those choices will not register online for another two seconds--usually letting the other guy manhandle you for the match. The worse--but funniest--experience is when all people in the match are experiencing the slowdown and nobody can wrestle effectively. My connection is top speed cable--yadda yadda. All my other games--Call of Duty WaW, Left 4 Dead, Fight Night, etc are just fine and smooth online.

Playing offline is fun enough. But the animations are slower this year. Feels a bit clunky. Needs to be faster, more like the old Smackdowns.

Creating characters is fun. There are more options.

But the ref ALWAYS gets in the way. Especially ONLINE! Noobs online manuever behind the ref to screw you up and then cheat a win out of you.

So, rent this game. Do not buy it. Unless of course you don't need a special roster and online play is not fun for you anyway. Then you should buy it.

It's too bad. We wait a year for a good WWE game and they seem to be getting worse every year.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Smackdown Vs Raw game in the series!
This game is excellent, it's way better than any other Smackdown Vs Raw game ever made, the possibilities are crazy!! There's so much you can do in this game that was impossible in the other games. It has a great amount of superstars past and present, and a big + is The Rock and Austin being in the game.

Graphics are great as always, on 1080p Cena actually looks real, the untrained eye can't tell the difference. Online is not that bad, sometimes you meet people who have slow internet connections which can put a damper on things, but as long as your speed is great, they'll lag on while you dominate.

The main thing of this game was "to have it your way" people online really take advantage of creating players this year, so much that it's rare to play someone online that isn't using a created player.

On a scale of 1 out of 100 the game gets 93%, it's almost close to being that perfect!!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Very good release , I would say it is my favorite one since HCTP hands down.
Rather than say what everyone else is saying I will kinda try and touch on the little things people have left out.

Wishlist-
Here is what I would like for the first patch to include.
Access to Edit Downloaded CAWs , Music, Moveset, and edit Colors (I would like to have more access but these are practical)
Use of Downloaded CAWs in RTWM.
Still keep them alloted to the downloaded charachter so people can't just make their edits on someone elses charachter and pass it off as their own work (so in other words no Uploads of others CAW). That way you are maximizing function and usefulness of the CAWs .

Only being able to use these as is and only in exhibition mode and not being able to edit entrance and music just kinda seem like this limitation makes this amazing feature somewhat of a waste.

For Example, Someone went to the effort of making an Incredible Rick Rude with the intercontinental title on his trunks, only thing being is they are the wrong color. I would never be able to make this CAW cause I am not good with the paint feature at all. So I would like to change the base color of Rick Rude's trunks and make his entrance not look like a Divas.

Review-
A very top notch effort this year, this addition would set this game over the top for me.The Grappling is a little different from last years, I think it is a little slower. More like 2008's game but alot smoother. The standard matches haven't changed much.

Royal Rumble is alot better , you can play without the cut scene of the guy running to the ring interrupting you all the time now.

The targeting system is a little faulty, I changed it in options to manual and am having less trouble now with it. It still is not as good as any other game in the series and it never was that great to begin with. Pretty minor gripe though. Graphics, Sound are great as usual. I found the Road to Wrestlemania challanges more difficult so far. Last year it was too easy, I like this year's better.

Now for the Major Gripe, people get right back up no matter what you do to them for the first 2 to 3 minutes. Chair Shot, no big deal. RKO No problem. This hasn't been a problem in this series in forever, why introduce it now.

All in all great fun, you could literally spend hours just looking at content other people have made, Iv'e seen very awesome recreations of Mario, Darth Maul, Dr. Doom, Wolverine, Spawn.....Name any old 80's WWE Guy...And the ones I mentioned are the really good ones I have seen.

To sum it up , if you have given up on this series over the last 2,3 games this is a good one to try to get back in on.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Same Old, Same Old
Due to lack of reviews after this game being out a week so far, I'm finding the fanfare Yukes tried to hype this game is turning out worse than 2009 in which TWO releases of WWE games couldn't even come close to match the sales of SvR 2008. I have played this game several times with a friend, and I will list off several things to warn buyers;

-If you didn't get the code for Austin; beware. Austin IS on the disc... the "download" for him is nothing more than a key to open him... it was 106KB when it should've been around 100MB.

-No Inter-Gender fights... period. Yeah, not too big of a deal, but this country needs to stop being so prudish and accept we all poop. It won't kill anyone to allow it.

-Title belts are even smaller this year. The ECW Title is roughly 70% smaller than it's real-life counterpart... it's almost absurd. Does Yukes use the Kids Replicas to make the Titles?

-Several match types are available in the Road to Wrestlemania stories... but you can't play them in Exhibition. Special Referee and I Quit are just a couple... why the heck was this even allowed? Also, why is Shane McMahon a huge part of the RTWM's but not a playable character?

-All animations that are listed as "New" are not always the case. Roughly half of the move animations that are "new" were just removed from previous versions and added back into the game.

-If you download a CAW online... you cannot edit ANYTHING on them. They will have either no theme, the RAW theme... you're stuck with what you download.

-Story Designer MAY have been worth it, but for 360 unless you pay for Live... you can't upload them online. On top of that, words are censored online that make no sense; "mystery", "horsemen", and "groin" are a few. Even Ron Simmons' catchphrase is censored.... yet available as a graphic for both CAW parts and for Reels. On top of that, "CHRISTIAN" is censored! That's right, can't use the wrestler's name online because it's a religion as well!

-No game play mechanic improvements to be found. Minor cosmetic changes were made. The Havok engine makes the ropes move more realistically but they still have more bugs than ever before. Yukes blatantly ripped off the idea from TNA Impact for side grapples as well... and there are less ground grapple options per wrestler than ever.

-Only 16 moves can actually submit people. SIXTEEN.

-If you edit your CAWs attire or create a new one... the game will revert that CAW back to the last time you altered them and drop half or all of your attribute points. Did ANYONE bug test this game? Every year it seems Yukes never bothers to test anything.

-Due to the gender restrictions... the MNM entrance is useless but still present in the game. Durrrrrr.

-You CANNOT defend Titles in the Elimination Chamber. Sure, they fixed the buckle glitch from 2009... but EVERY Chamber has been for a Title and they screwed that up somehow? They should be ashamed of themselves at how badly they put a wrestling game together in which 90% of it is just a copy and paste job.

I can literally go on and on and on with this. The Rumble is a nice addition, but the time it takes for someone to walk to the back and someone else to get in the ring drags it WAY too much. You can eliminate people even faster than 2009 and you will find yourself alone in the ring usually 25 out of 30 entrants every time you play the match from anywhere to 30 seconds to over a minute inbetween.

The good just does not outweigh the bad... which is what Yukes is known for. It's definitely worth renting or if you have a friend you can play it with... but spending $60 on this game would be a huge mistake. Regardless of it being listed #122 on Amazon in Video Games... the general consensus in the gaming community is only die-hard WWE marks are loving this game and the pro-wrestling fans are wondering when we're going to get a polished, finished, bug-tested, and playable game.
