I purchased 2 guns. Had to return both for replacement. At the time of this writing I am waiting for the new ones, so I hope the problems are solved. I believe Pyramyd Air is working to correct this problem, as they have been very helpful over the phone.
Gun A
1. Had a non-working lighted reticle in the scope.
2. That same gun was missing a plastic plug on the forearm.
3. That same gun had a manufacture grinder type gouge defect at the point you install pellet into the barrel that created a lead film at that area after each shot. If this film were not completely wiped away before inserting the next pellet, the next round would fly astray.
Gun B
1. Same problem as described for gun A as it relates to manufacture grinder type gouge defect at the point you install pellet into the barrel.
2. Some type of foreign material floating around inside the scope as you could see it at times when looking through the scope. If you shook the gun one way or another, the foreign object would go away temporally.
3. When scope lighted reticle is turned on during low ambient light levels, there was double/triple lighted reticles reflections.
I have owned a Beeman R1 for many years and it is hands down a high-grade gun. German made! Think that says it. Although these new inexpensive made Beeman guns look good and are functionally OK overall, they are made in foreign countries that obviously can't, or do not, always provide a quality product. They suffer from a lack of quality parts and finish and overall quality assembly. Seems there is lack of quality control involved. Although the case seems to be a nice touch, the gun must be disassembled, including the scope, to store it in the case. I guess that is OK if you want to just store it. I bought it to use!!!!!!!!
I have faith the both Beeman and Pyramyd Air will do everything possible to correct these problems.
