 Rating:  - Better on MacOne thing before I start - you must have installed a full non-educational/home version of a previous version of Mac Office for this upgrade to work. I've been a loooong time PC user and only recently moved to a Mac (that's a whole story in itself - needless to say that I've become an absolute Mac fan). So what about Office on the Mac? I mostly use Word, Powerpoint and Excel. On the Mac they zip along noticeably faster than on my, admittedly, aging Windows Xp box. The switch to Office for Mac from WinXp was smooth. Coupled with the Apple Mighty mouse I feel as though I can do all the tasks that I'm used to doing that much faster on the Mac version. All-things PC appear to be where I would expect them, however with the addition of the Mac look-n-feel I'm getting the best of both worlds. If you're use to Office on the PC I highly recommend switching to the Mac and Mac Office for the performance and ease-of-use gains you'll get. Rating: - Don't get this unless you need the ExtrasI recommend sticking with the other packages of MS Office for Mac. Most people just need Word or Excel. You may want to know the difference between this and standered edition "Entourage's Exchange support: Student/Home edition only supports IMAP. Business edition has web services (connects via OWA) and syncs properly" Be excellent! Rating: - No complaints from this businessWe've had no problem with the installation or use of the Microsoft Office for Mac 2008 Business Edition Upgrade and I'd especially recommend it to businesses who can benefit from the Microsoft Office Exchange Server support. I have many clients who are not Mac based and with this upgrade, documents are now easily shared without conflict or alteration. Although many complain about Microsoft and its products, I'm a fan of Office for Mac and really like this business edition. For me, it's intuitive and offers more options without making me feel overwhelmed by products I don't use. I also enjoy discovering new uses for the components and must admit that I'm still experiencing hours of education (and entertainment) as I learn more about the program. It's a winner for me. Rating: - I am please with the new 2008 Business Edition upgradeIf you have used MS Office in the past, it will take you a while, to navigate through all applications again. Unlike a lot of people, I've always been an admirer of Microsoft products. Granted, they tend to be expensive, overpriced even, but they typically do what they're intended to do with an honest amount of ease. The design templates is a plus for me because it made my simple office requirements much more efficient and stress free. Furthermore, the Menus have been replaced with tabs, but unlike to the Windows version of Office 2007 and 2008, you still have the familiar 'pull down menus'. Aside from that the 2008 version of Office for Mac is more of the same the familiar suite of office programs with some spiffed up new features only it suffers from the problem that causes many users to loathe Microsoft: instability. The program is generally reliable, but it still had enough problems like all software, including an overall slowness, to be frustrating for me. I like the features, like the ease of use. But overall I kept wishing that the platform was just a small more stable. I have to say that "Microsoft Office for Mac 2008 Business Edition upgrade" is worth buying and if you already have the 2004 version I think the upgrade is worth it, too. Rating: - If you're in business, a must-have.Microsoft Office 2008 - Business Edition (upgrade) If you work in an office environment or have a copy of Microsoft Office 2008 on your personal Mac, you know of its power and universal ubiquity - and, of course, its complete compatibility with Office for Windows. It is THE business suite - other competitor's shares are very small by comparison. If you use Office 2008 and want to expand its capabilities and feature set, upgrading to the Business Edition may be right for you. The big deal here is that the upgrade gives you Exchange Server support. With this upgrade you can collaborate using Live Workspace and Windows SharePoint Services. You can also connect to your Windows PC to securely access files using Remote Desktop for Mac 2. Chances are, if you work in an office, your employer has already installed the business edition but if you need its additional features and functions at home or on the road, this looks like the way to go.
