 Rating:  - quit after 2 daysBattery would work for about 15 minutes. Can't use my own, superior, headset. can't recommend it. Would recommend finding the older shuffle with controls on the unit. Rating: - Awful, and now you have to pay more for the older one.I just returned the new shuffle and didn't even take it out for a run. I didn't know the controls were on the headphones, if I had known, I never would have bought one. I have a hard time fitting the headphones and now that I have a good pair, I don't want to have to try to buy more expensive ones with controls. I also didn't check the reviews before I bought it and should have. The reviews say it all! Now I have to find an old model and pay even more! How can Apple be so stupid! Rating: - Shuffle v4I have v1 Shuffle; I was going to buy one of the new shuffles but didn't like the idea of the requirement to use Apple's headset.. I have my own headset that is perfect for cycling and running; i.e short cord that doesn't get in the way.. After reading previous reviews, there is no way I will buy the v4 shuffle... Apple really screwed up on identifying a significant portion of their target market for Shuffles, outdoor sports... Duh! Rating:  - love it or hate itI understand some of the criticisms of the new iPod shuffle, I just don't agree with them. I guess the new design is a love it or hate it thing. I love it. I've never had a problem with the controls on the headphone cord, in fact I think it's a really great feature. It's the first mp3 player I've ever owned that I could really control without looking at it, so even though the computer voice makes some silly mistakes, I like it too. The sound quality is great, it looks great, the size is right. Everything about this is perfect. I understand the complaint that people who want to use their own headphones have a problem with the controls on the cord. When it first came out there weren't many accessories for it, so you had to use Apple's headphones which aren't great. But it's been out for a while and other manufacturer's have come out with compatible headphones and adapters so it's really not an issue anymore. The idea behind this version of the shuffle is that it's small, easy to use, and affordable. It's all those things, and if that's what you're looking for, you should get one. Rating: - WASTE OF MONEY!What a waste of money. First the headphones stop working then i buy an adapter for it and the shuffle stops working. Can't believe Apple would make another generation of this piece of crap.
