iPod shuffle: The First Music Player that Talks to YouThe World's Smallest Music Player To create the world's smallest music player, we moved the controls from iPod shuffle to the earphone cord. This makes iPod shuffle smaller than ever, and the controls are right where you can reach them. So when you want to play, pause, or skip to the next tune, you don't have to fumble for your iPod shuffle--just follow the cord and press a button. The First Music Player that Talks to You VoiceOver will surely be the next big hit on your iPod shuffle. Say you're listening to a song and want to know the title or the artist. Just press a button, and VoiceOver tells you. You can even hear the names of your playlists. And when your battery needs charging, VoiceOver tells you that, too. Easy-Access Controls The controls are located on the right earphone cord. With command central strategically placed in this more convenient location, you can navigate your music--and activate the VoiceOver feature--without taking your eyes off your run, your ride, or whatever you're doing. iPod shuffle includes these easy-access controls, but you can also use headphones with similar controls from manufacturers like Scosche, Klipsch, V-MODA, and Belkin. Your Music Library ... to Go iPod shuffle is now available in both 2 GB and 4 GB capacities. So you have plenty of room to store hours and hours of music--up to 1,000 songs with the 4 GB model.2 That's a load of essentials for your workout or commute. And there's room for multiple playlists and audiobooks, too. Multiple Playlists You've probably made multiple playlists in iTunes. One for your commute. One for the gym. One for just chilling out. Now you can sync playlists on your computer with iPod shuffle, and play the perfect mix for your activity or mood. VoiceOver tells you the name of each playlist, so it's easy to switch between them and find the one you want without looking. Let's Talk Color The anodized aluminum enclosure makes iPod shuffle sleek and durable. It's even more colorful in gleaming pink, blue, green, black, or silver. And making its debut: the special edition iPod shuffle in polished stainless steel (Talk about rock star treatment). Even the iPod shuffle clip rocks. It attaches securely to your shirt, jacket, workout gear, and backpack, making iPod shuffle the perfect fashion tech-cessory. And yes, there's still room for personalized engraving. So it can tell you song titles and artists in the correct languages. To Shuffle or Not to Shuffle The shuffle switch has three positions. Flip it to the left, and you'll hear your music in a refreshingly random way. Flip it to the middle, and your songs play in order. Or flip to the right to turn iPod shuffle off. ![]() Rating: - love it or hate itI understand some of the criticisms of the new iPod shuffle, I just don't agree with them. I guess the new design is a love it or hate it thing. I love it. I've never had a problem with the controls on the headphone cord, in fact I think it's a really great feature. It's the first mp3 player I've ever owned that I could really control without looking at it, so even though the computer voice makes some silly mistakes, I like it too. The sound quality is great, it looks great, the size is right. Everything about this is perfect. I understand the complaint that people who want to use their own headphones have a problem with the controls on the cord. When it first came out there weren't many accessories for it, so you had to use Apple's headphones which aren't great. But it's been out for a while and other manufacturer's have come out with compatible headphones and adapters so it's really not an issue anymore. The idea behind this version of the shuffle is that it's small, easy to use, and affordable. It's all those things, and if that's what you're looking for, you should get one. Rating: - WASTE OF MONEY!What a waste of money. First the headphones stop working then i buy an adapter for it and the shuffle stops working. Can't believe Apple would make another generation of this piece of crap. Rating: - I Love It !It is convenient, simple, and very easy to use and download music. Nothing complicated about it. The sound is great. I love the easy access to the different catagories it automactically sorts your music into and the way it gives you the Artist Name and the Title of the song when played by just one easy click and hold button. I use it when I walk and jog. It is so tiny, I can clip it anywhere and never feel the weight of it. I absolutely adore it ! It is an excellent purchase. I am a satisfied custmer with this product. Rating: - A Wonderful IpodI am a longtime customer of Apple and their Ipods. I have had many Ipods over the years and I love this one. I also liked the Nano as well. I love the voice over: even though I know what I put on there its great to be able to know what song your listening to. I love being able to use it by making playlists. It may only be 2g but, it holds quite a few songs. I agree with others who have said that the headphones are not all that comfortable but, I do love the remote on the headphones. If you want a good small light strong Ipod, get this one. I'm very happy with it. Rating: - Just Say NoMy boyfriend bought this...thing, and it's been a headache ever since. He's not the most computer literate, so I have had the "pleasure" of trying to figure it out for him. *The horrid earphones don't fit his ears but are required to control the unit. *You can't plug it into your stereo or any other device to listen to it with any kind of control over the unit. *His profession involves sweating, so yeah, it stops working once the sweat hits the control box. *It seems that the battery never fully charges because the light never turns green and the charge only lasts about 4 hours. I read a review somewhere online that stated the battery life for this thing was supposed to be 8-10 hours - whereas the 2nd gen shuffle average battery life was around 12. Some "upgrade"... *The Belkin adapter costs $20 and has mixed reviews itself. I am not at all pleased with the notion of spending more money to make a new product function as it was designed to do from jump - as we PAID for it to do from the start. So, Apple gets to charge "new/functional/no additional products necessary" prices and we get to spend more money? Um, no - this customer don't play that. Just purchased a used 2nd gen shuffle (like my own) for him for $40 from that other site - I noticed they have used ones on this site for similar prices as well. This 4th gen piece of tin will go into a drawer (too late to return it) to wait for the recall that better happen. I will continue to purchase used 2nd gen shuffles until the Apple Powers-That-Be get their heads out. Save your money or stay old school. Peace. |
