This is definitely a sleeper film. I am a big fan of both actors so I decided to watch it. The surprise performance came from Scott Speedman who was simply superb opposite a very competent James Marsden. I wonder if the writer/director intended this as a play; it certainly comes off like that, though I didn't see a reference to "based on the play" in the credits.
Plays don't usually take well to the screen, but this really works. And the intense performances by these two talented actors is spellbinding. The subtle qualities in Speedman's performance were fascinating. And Marsden really delivers. I hope these two guys work together again.
The writing is tight and very well done. Good staging, good suspense of course, and great staging. There's no special effects, no big action, no sex ... hence, this film has to stand purely on the script and the acting. It gets an A+. I would love to see the stage play. It would be interesting to see the actors switch roles.

Yes , great movie to watch. And a great cast , Could even be base on a true story .

I wish this rating system had a choice of more than just 5 stars. This is definitely the best film I have ever had the pleasure of seeing, and I would recommend it to any movie lover (as long as your idea of a good time isn't limited to just Napoleon Dynamite or Talladega Nights). Packed with intelligent, bone-chilling dialogue, this movie will never leave you once you watch it.
"Now is that the true truth, or is that your truth?"

"The 24th Day" is one of the best independent films ever. Without giving away any of the plot, it is about one's responsibility in this age of AIDS towards oneself and to others while having sex. The movie is based on a stage play, but the film adds moblity to the story. The leads pull off terrific performances as we see who survives this cat and mouse game as one of the characters become the others captive prisoner. James Marsden, as always, is beautiful to look at, but he finally shows the kind of actor he is. You won't get a film showing lots of endless sex scenes between two gay men, but you will get a story that is innovative and suspenseful.

I don't know what the reviewer "Gordon Larko" is smoking. For some reason, he feels compelled to leave the EXACT SAME horrible review and 1 STAR rating for all GAY-THEMED movies. Probably a "personal problem" of his. Hopefully this review will help correct this imbalance. I can't believe AMAZON is allowing this GAY BASHER to use their website as a venue to spread his hate.
By the way, This is an absolutely WONDERFUL movie!
