Hey folks, I had one of these tv/radio combination products and was very happy with it. The siren is loud enough to wake one from a deep sleep in case of emergency, it had UHF/TV/Weather band, etc. I had mine for about five years with no problems whatsoever, but sold it at a garage sale earlier this year for the reason I'm outlining below.
Beware!! With the transition to all-digital television in Feb. of 2009, this type of portable television will no longer receive any transmissions without a converter box. These boxes aren't that expensive, but they're huge, bulky and not battery-operated, which negates the point of owning the item.
I bought a Haier 7" TV here on Amazon that receives the digital broadcasts for around $100 and have been quite happy with it. However, as of now, there's not a digital television/weather radio combination on the market of which I'm aware. Maybe Vector will eventually make one; I know I'll certainly buy it if so!
The one downside of the Vector radio/TV is the large, heavy transformer plug that makes quite a racket if it falls out of your outlet and onto the floor, but that's not a deal-killer for the product, especially since it'll also run on batteries (I believe mine took nine "C" alkalines.)
I'd have given this five stars if not for the lack of functionality of the television as of May 2009.

I was disappointed with this product. The television only gets one channel and that is snowy. The crank backup will not power the television. If all you want is a radio, or a weak flashlight, it is okay.
