For New Years Eve, we went to the Caledonia Society's New Year's Eve party at the Hamilton Princess hotel. A good time was had by all. They served martinis out of a quickly-melting ice scuplture, and the food was very good. From the window we could see the fireworks being set off at Elbow Beach.
This morning there was a very beautiful sunrise.
We went home to Toronto for a week over Christmas, returning on December 26. So there are no Bermuda Christmas stories or photos to report. The weather was cold in Toronto -- well, at least compared to Bermuda. There was snow on the ground when we arrived, but later in the week it rained. On Christmas day it was raining and you could see the grass by that point. Typcial Toronto winter weather, snow then rain then snow then rain, etc. I caught a nasty flu while we we there (perhaps on the plane, who knows) so I wasn't feeling the best for a good part of the trip. But it was really to see everybody back home and spend Christmas with our families.
The Christmas Party for Michelle's work was held at the Grotto Bay hotel. The place was very nice and the party was a lot of fun.
