Discovering Blogs

Around the same time that I was learning about search engine optimization (SEO), I discovered blogs. I was late to the blog party, as blogs had been around for several years when I first heard the term.

A'Blog'-- short for 'weblog' -- is kind of like an online journal. Each 'entry' in a blog is like a journal entry. The home page of a blog usually displays the most recently entry at the top of the page, with older entries further down the page (technically speaking, the entries are sorted in reverse chronological order). Every entry is archived indefinitely.

So at first appearance, a blog was just a regular web site with a unique format. But delving a little deeper, there were some significant aspects and lessons to be learned from blogs.
