SEO Lesson: Titles are important

Another lesson that might seem obvious:

Web page titles are important for optimial search enegine rankings

For clarity, I am talking about the text between the <title> and </title> tags, the title that appears in the title bar of you Internet web browser, the title that appears in the search engine results.

As you might expect, the title of a web page explains what the page is about, the topic of that page. So it comes as no surprise that search engines put a lot of weight on the title of a page.

So this is a simple but important lesson. Combined with the previous lesson, it becomes especially significant. To optimize every page for a different keyword phrase, each and every page should have a different title, with each title focused on a different keyword phrase.
