Departure: Toronto to New York
I left the house at about 4:30 to pick Michelle up from the subway station. There were a few flurries still, but the roads were dry. From the subway station, we drove 45 minutes to Brampton, where my parents live. Brampton is close to the airport, so we could leave the car at my parents house for 2 weeks. We arrived at the airport at 6:30, plenty of time before our 8:15 Flight. After going through customs and checking our bags, we learned at the gate that the flight was delayed one hour, due to high winds in New York. So the plane left at 9:15. The 49 minute flight was a little rocky on the takeoff and descent, due to the high winds. After we picked up our bags, which were quite heavy - by the way, we went to catch a bus from Newark to Manhattan. We got a bus destined for Penn Station. From there we took the A train south towards Brooklyn - but it was so late that the A was "local only", making lots of stops. However, after just two stops, they informed us thatthe A would not continue, due to track-work. So we got off at 14th Street and took the L train over to 6th Avenue, where we transferred to the F all the way deep into Brooklyn, getting off at te Bay Parkway station, where we met my sister.
There was a really cool cemetary just of the subway platform, which is quite high above the street. We then caught a bus that took us for a few blocks, then we walked a short distance to my sister's house. At this point it was after 1 AM, and we were both really tired. Sandra's place was nice, they recently painted it, quite large with some new Ikea furniture. Michelle almost broke the shower door - as I said, she was really tired. Did I mention that our luggage was really heavy?
