AdWordsAdvisor Says?
Importance: Medium
And then there were two.
GoogleGuy annouces that a new Googler has joined the forums. This Google employee will answer questions about AdWords only (later in this thread AdWordsAdvisor says that he or she is not part of the AdSense team, and probably won't be answering questions about that).
This of course begs the question, do I need to start an "AdWordsAdvisor Says" site? Or perhaps include the AWA quotes on this site? Reply to this entry and share your thoughts -- if there is enough demand, maybe I will do something in this area...

GoogleGuy Says: [Link to quote]
Hey everyone, I was looking back over the list of questions that resulted in the "GoogleGuy answers" thread:
http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/14216.htm
and there was one question that I wanted to mention:
Q: Have you ever considered inviting another Google employee to participate at Webmaster World? Might this be a good opportunity?
I was thinking about that question a while ago because I don't make it over to the AdWords forum as much as I'd like to, and I was thinking that it would be wonderful if some Googler would volunteer a little free time to answer questions about AdWords. Sure enough, I was talking to someone the other day who answers AdWords questions, and they mentioned that they'd be happy to help answer some questions on the web.
I talked to Brett and the Google/AdWords forum moderators, and folks were groovy about having another Googler show up from time to time. So without further ado, I'd like to introduce AdWordsAdvisor.
I'll give you some background info, just so you know what to expect. Just like with GoogleGuy, AdWordsAdvisor (AWA?) is going to be a single person. They'll have a different posting style than me. I'm pretty casual; they may be a little more formal--we'll see. We're going to keep AWA's identity anonymous in case they want to go on vacation, or if we ever need to switch to a different person in a pinch. AWA is going to stop by in their limited free time (mostly during work hours), so don't expect a ton of posts. If I had to guess, I would expect AdWordsAdvisor to stop by and post less often than me, because let's face it--I need to get out more.
They might start out pretty slowly to get a feel for things, and don't expect them to post on really controversial or strategic or technical threads. The person serving in this role is very familiar with AdWords and answers customer questions about nuts and bolts stuff and improving account performance. But they're not an engineer and not a techie, so I would mostly look for answers to basic questions to help newer folks with AdWords.
That's all I can think of right now, but I'll chime in if there's something I forgot. Oh, one last thing: I know just about everyone knows this, but please be nice. I've had a good long time on WebmasterWorld to thicken my skin, but this is someone who is just starting out. Thanks everyone!
