Importance: Low

AdWordsAdvisor explains when to create a new Campaign, versus creating a new Ad Group.

Have more than one thing to advertise? Here are some tips to help you decide if you should start a new Campaign, or use multiple Ad Groups within one Campaign.

You probably want more than one Campaign if you want to:

* Set different budgets for different facets of your business. (High budget for 'Blue Widgets' campaign because they are really important to your bottom line - and low budget for 'Faded Green Sprockets' because you only sell a very few.)

* Set different Language and Country targets (A campaign called 'Blue Widgets US' targeted to the US in, and another called 'Blue Widgets Europe' targeted to Europe.)

* Set different start and end dates. ('Green Sprockets' campaign runs until the end of time, but 'Green Holiday Sprockets' runs only November 1st through December 31st, 2003)

* Set different distribution preferences ('Pale Green Sprockets' campaign runs on Google only, but 'Paisley Sprockets' runs on Google and search sites in Google's network.)

* Have more than 100 Ad Groups.

If none of these apply to you, you probably only need one Campaign, with multiple Ad Groups to effectively target the various products and services you have to offer.

BTW - a real advantage of using many Ad Groups in one Campaign is that you will be able to see all the ad groups on one page. With multiple Campaigns you have to click from one page to another.
