Google engineers find missing index problem?

Importance: High

For some time, webmasters have reported a problem of missing index pages, in which sub pages were ranking higher in cases where a site's home page should be ranked higher. An common example is searching for a site's title. (Actually I am seeing this right now when searching for the title of this site. The "low importance" page is currently the highest ranking page from this site in the SERPs that I see.)

After receiving some reports, GoogleGuy says that Google engineers have identified as potential issue that may be causing this.

Hey, I saw that people were looking for an update, so let me post what I've found out so far. First off, thanks to the people who sent a report with "indexpage" in it. Sometimes having more than one report makes it easier to investigate, so I appreciate the feedback. I was talking to another engineer earlier today and they did identify a potential issue that could have affected some of the reports. We have a binary-code push scheduled pretty soon (hopefully later tonight) for it. I'll keep you posted if I find out more.

I have seen a lot of pages that I used to have indexed that are now missing from Google's index. Does anyone know where to get some information regarding how to get those pages back in? Sometimes Google can seem so difficult when it comes to having a problem fixed by using any kind of definite solution.

The website http://www.eczemaanddermatitis.co.uk/ was indexed on Google - now it's missing and for no reason.

What happened?
