Importance: AWA

AWA replies to some members about the reach of Google.

AdWordsAdvisor Says: [Link to quote]

"Reach of Google + partner network = approx 80% of Internet users. "

"Can you tell me where this comes from? "

I recall that this was from a 'Media Metrix' report dated 12/03. I haven't seen the report, but just recall it coming up in a conversation.

Neither am I a statistician! What I take this statistic to mean is that pages from Google, plus all partner sites, may be seen by 80% of all people using the Internet.

"So together, Y + G reach = 150% of all net users? "

No, I think it is ok for a person to see more than one site! So a lot of the 80% who have seen Google or partner pages have visited other sites as well, almost certainly including 'competing sites'. ;)

I knew I should have stayed away from actual statistics - I hate not knowing exactly what I'm talking about! The vocabulary of statistics is so not native to me.
