GoogleGuy Says

GoogleGuy responds to some members reporting problems accessing the Google site.
GoogleGuy Says: [ Link to quote] Huh, I haven't heard any reports of problems. People who have had intermittent problems connecting: any common ISP being used? Do you have a static or dynamic IP? Any proxies that you know of? Was it prolonged or would a reload fix it? Are you using straight DNS, or have you hardcoded IP addresses for Google in your resolv.conf or hosts file? Gimme some details. :)
I remember one time users in Europe were seeing garbled images on Google because a UK ISP had a buggy caching server. It took us a while to figure it out because we couldn't recreate it. Anyway, feel free to post more info and I'll be happy to ask around. Thanks!

We are having trouble with one computer terminal. Every time we try to access the Google page we get a message asking if we are trying to find Google and then explaining how we should alter our "Host" files to clear up the problem. Anyone else have this issue? All of the terminals are linked to the same system |

I used to have google as my home page but now my system won't let me even open up google. I have windows98 and Norton systemworks 2000. I almost lost my access to outlook express but long phone conversations to my server helped resolve that. Any ideas? |

all we see is a small "o" which is one of the google title letters. ie it is not text but rather the graphic "o" of google.
Only in url www.google.com, so we use www.google.com.au and it is alright. |

I am having trouble with google. The problem is local, but when I search for on google, no matter what the search is, the first page is ALWAYS links of ads for other search engines and the like. I have downloaded MANY spyware scanners and removers, even used Hijackthis but I still can't seem to find the problem, its as if there is some script being associated with google which is hidden somewhere on my computer and undetected by any sort of spyware/adware scanners, or antivirus software. Norton doesn't even pick up anything. I don't know what the problem is... |

I am experiencing the same problems with Google.com and .com.au. Google.com displays only part of the "g" and google.com.au displays two small rectangular boxes in the top left. Rather strange! |

When I use my laptop I type Google and I get a white screen with a Big Green box that searches, but it doesnt give me anything exept stuff you can buy. If I type Google on my parents computer or any other computer it works fine... I want google back! Right now I have to switch between Ask.com and Yahoo.com. |

I sent an email to Google quite some time ago detailing this problem and got the same response.
They are aware of the problem and don't have a remedy so the strategy appears to act oblivious.
I Have 2 systems on a router and they developed the problem independently.
My thinking on this is that something is changeing the register or something like that.
In any case I have to use google au which is better then nothing.
I want my google.com back.
Oh well....... :-( |

When I search on google only one result comes up(no matter what the search word is). I then have to hit refresh in order to see all of the results. |

Impossible to access Google since this morning!
I am getting "Page contains no data" or "Page no found" error messages (depending on the browser).
This is terrible!
What is going on?

For those who are getting the first page of ads on Google - go to the very bottom right and click Remove Adware. Follow the instructions. Very nasty, boring and difficult to find a solution easily, but there it is! |

I just added google toolbar. This is the result I get
Not Found
The requested URL /search was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Whoever is saying this is a user-end problem cannot be accurate. I have had trouble accessing both google and g-mail on a number of occassions the past 2 weeks from my work, handheld, and home devices. The only common thread is google. I used to count on them for flawless services, but now I can't even count on them to run a simple search or check my g-mail about 10-20% of the time I've tried lately. If you'r e listening...please, google, FIX THIS PROBLEM! |

Google is giving weird results, a competitor of mine had 3 results exactly the same on one page, same URL and the same description. That is not right or fair for the users and for website owners. In the last week some times my website is in the search results and the next time I look it simply isnt there? Does anyone know what the hell is going on with the supposed big search engine? |

Something is seriously wrong - I'm still listed on Google if I do a search for site:coolsmartphone.com but it simply refuses to pull any results from me - I was a PR 6, now it's shot through the floor. |

Everytime I hit the back or forward button (on IE6 and IE7) or click on a link, i get a new page opening up with search results from google. Im about to go psycho and disassociate myself with google forever. I thought it was a problem with IE6, until i got IE7 and it persisted. Now im stuck with IE7 and its crap and its all googles fault. |

I'm having trouble with Google, today. Whenever I access it, the print is VERY small--about 1/4 of the normal size. Does anyone have any answers for me? I've tried to change the properties, but that only seems to change the properties of other websites, not Google's. If you can help me, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you.

Hi, question. Laptop and PC both set up the same as far as I can tell. On PC I cannot access bank account, hotmail and various sites that require passwords but can on the laptop. HOWEVER, on the PC I can access everything going via Mozilla - how wierd is that and what do I need to do to access through Google direct. I have gone back to IE6 and removed what I can of Windows Live. I would like to wipe off Google and reload - how do I do that? Seems to be embedded in the system as is not accessible through Add/Remove Programmes. Any ideas? |
