Importance: Medium

GG says it's okay to used javascript to hide the URL in the status bar on mouseover.

No problems with this. Someone started a rumor about this a while ago, but I tried to play whack-a-mole so that people know that they can do what they want with the status bar. :)

Url Hiding is important

I use url hiding in a lot of cases.

Most common windows programms have a status bar an it is used to explain functions of a menu or a button. (While you're mouse over a button status explains it's function) I'am happy that google is not breaking this. Most time when I uses the status bar I repeat the link text there, or I explain the link. It's some kind of good programming style.
