In this short message, GG -- first noting that he is only expressing a personal opinion -- says that he likes the the long opening post of another member. The other member's post, which be found here, expresses an opinion that Google was moviated by competitive pressures to make these changes and make them fast. The member also speculates that Google made these changes on the live data centers - rather than in the lab - in order to save time in deploying the new algorithms, spam filters, etc. GG is brief and vague in his response, which is open to your interpretation, as always :) Link to quote
