What do they call is Lord of the Rings? I've seen all three movies. There's only one ring. Why isn't it called "The Lord of Ring"? Is it just me?

I'm not much of an LoR guy, but I just asked the residential expert about this, and she tells me in Eregion long ago many Elven-rings were made. Various magic rings...exciting stuff. They probably mentioned all this in the beginning of the first one, the only one I've seen. You were probably at the snack bar loading up on Junior Mints. |

It's because there were more than one rings given to the Kings, Elves, etc... I should know, I'm the King/Queen of the Abyss. |

You should read the book.... there are many rings...
their was a peice of poetry aslo in the movie... one ring to bind them all, one to find them, one RIng to rule them all in the darkness binds them
some thing like that
n apart from that their were 9 rings given to King of men and 4 or soem rings were given to dwarfs ., 3 to elves... infact galadriel the queen of Lothlorien wore one ring one was with Elrond n i am not sure about the last one ... i think Arwen ( the one who marries Aragorn in the alst of the last part)
For all these rings their were only one ring to control and use the power of all rings ... n that was the ring of Sauron the Dark lord of Mordor... that is why the name Lord of the RIngs... cause actually it was his evil plan to distribute the rings n then use hi master ring to control all of them... hence the name "Lord of the Rings".... i hope this will staisfy your quest for teh answer of your query ....

Theres more then ONE RING! read this poem, maybe you'll understand!
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for the Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
You dig? |

I regret to inform you unreformed NERDS that there are NO, i repeat, NO rings in Lord Of The Rings. Reading all 3 books about 25 times, i noticed an obvious encoding in each book. In the first book, and i quote, "the ring is powerful, it is great, but this may be a conspiracy" and following that in the second "the ring is too powerful, it is not real" and in the third, Glandor repeats the lines "ITS NOT REAL, ITS NOT REAL", i feel that Bozo found the ring as a conceptation of G-ds feelings, Mandoor and Glandular Fever were destined to win it, I also run a WAR HAMMER CLUB ON SATURDAYS, AND POKEMON VS DIGIMON TOURNEMENT ON SUNDAY, see you ANTIDISABLISHMENT shhh RINSED BLED
EAT MY COOKIE...... BY THE WAY, I HOPE YOU'VE NOTICED THAT WHEN I READ THIS OUT LOUD IM TALKING UP AT EVERY SENTENCE, AND IN MANDOOR FAMOUS GRADDY VOICE |

Elrond has one of the Three.
Lady Galadriel has another.
And the third was given by Cirdan to Mithrandir (named by humans "Gandalf"). |

And the 9 Rings given to men, killed the 9 human lords who rode against him in the first battle and brought them back as the Dark Rider Things |

Can't be fecked to read the books? The first film explains how ALL THE RINGS were given to the elfs and people, it's been a while since I saw the fims (or read the books) but there is more than one... well I supose in the actual films there is only one ring, but before they were set there were more rings... so the title 'The Lord Of The Rings' is a bit misleading since the adventure in present time only has one ring.
wow, big, big piece of writing. I'm giving myself a pat on the back for all that hard work :D |

You are all total and complete fools It is called Lord of the Rings because the Lord of the master ring the One ring had mastery of all the other rings if he had in his possession the One ring.
and for all those who did not know their are
3 for the elven kings under the sky
seven for the dwarf-lords in their halls of stone
nine for mortal men doomed to die
one for the dark lord on his dark throne
in the land of mordor where shadows lie
one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the land of mordor were shadows lie
And for a quick history of the rings to help you who dont know
Elrond had vilya the elven ring for water
Galadriel had Nenya the ring of air
Gandalf had Narya the ring of fire that is the 3 elven rings sorted.
as for the seven four were consumed in dragon fires the only fire hot enough to melt a ring of power (other than Mount Doom) as for the 3 they are all in Saurons possesion the last one was taken from Thror father of Thorin oakensheild (the dwarf from the hobbit)
and the nine are all the ringwraiths only three are named in lord of the rings and that is Kamul Morgimir and the Witchking |
