When we arrived at the "port" of the Posada Amazonas lodge, we had to walk up some questionable steps and then hike 30 minutes through the jungle. (Porters carried our bags....phew) We immediately heard the sounds of the Amazon rainforest, birds, maybe monkeys, other strange sounds.

After 15 minutes, a few people were pointing up in the trees. A small monkey was in the trees, just 20 feet above us. He was small and dark brown, and climbing all over the trees. This is a good sign, there must be monkey sitings all the time, this is going to be really cool.
