The Box set is the best! Cool stuff inside too... "Naked, Naked, Naked!"... Hahahaha! A must have for true fans. Enjoy!

Rating:5 out of 5 stars - Even my grandma used to watch this show every week
This is magnificent. This is one of the most glorious boxed sets I could have asked for, and I got it free as a Christmas present! You get the first three seasons, a small book-style script (mine was "The Big Salad"), playing cards, and a napkin dispenser with salt and pepper shakers from Monks. I thought the script would have more notes from Larry David in it, and I was sorely disappointed with that. I had a few pages of enormously unintelligible scribbling at the beginning, and then VERY sparsely (like practically nothing) interspersed notes after. But who cares? We all want the DVD's anyway.

I normally wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but these episodes are evidently remastered. A couple of them have an optional intro monologue by Jerry, and it's really obvious when you watch them with that. The intro looks absolutely horrid, but then once the episode starts and the familiar stand-up routine comes in it's beautiful again. There is an average of five episodes per disc across 8 of them. They all have special features; nearly every episode has an "inside look," ranging from around 2-5 minutes, showing interviews with the cast and the writers and how the story evolved. There is another longer (maybe 45 minutes) documentary on the evolution of Larry David's old neighbor Kenny Kramer into the Kramer we all know now. Additionally, there are bloopers, deleted scenes, commentaries, footage of Jerry and Michael Richards from the Tonight Show (RIP Johnny Carson), and more. I have yet to sit through a whole episode with the "notes about nothing" on, but those are basically like that old Pop-up Videos (I think that was the name) show on VH1 where they would pop up trivia text on screen every few seconds relating to what was going on.

The episodes themselves are classic. Personally, I don't think the first season was very funny, but it only constitutes 4 episodes and the pilot. Once the second season hits, though, the show really gets running. The laughs are practically nonstop, which I never really realized before. I certainly never noticed just how funny Michael Richards is. There is a blooper from the episode "The Good Samaritan" in season 3 where Kramer has a seizure at the sound of Mary Hart's voice, and I couldn't stop laughing, it was so funny (make sure to watch for the blooper, not the actual episode...the aired seizure isn't as good). Season 3 only continues the stride. There are so many classic moments from this show that you'd have to have no sense of humor at all to not laugh (like the "kid" who gave it 1 star below).

The writing on this show is top-notch, and it may never be seen again, as less and less original ideas are presented to the public. Do yourself a favor and pick up this boxed set, or if you can find the two individual sets for cheaper, get those. This show had a profound impact on television, and it demands appreciation. I absolutely can't wait for the subsequent releases. At least season 3 of Curb Your Enthusiasm comes out next month!

Rating:5 out of 5 stars - A Must Have for any Seinfeld Fan
I could watch these DVDs a million times & laugh each time!

Rating:1 out of 5 stars - Seinfeld is unfunny, pointless, and a waste of time
Seinfeld is a real pointless TV show that somehow made audiences laugh but this is one unfunny and annoyning TV show that dosen't deserve this DVD set(The Simpsons is the best cartoon TV show ever and dosen't get a box set of features and Seinfeld does). The series are pointless and have no sense or laughs. the show is a bunch of New Yorkers living life on misadventures and meeting weird people. Jerry Seinfeld is a terrible actor and a bad comedian and the rest of the cast are pathetic. Please watch something better on TV and skip Seinfeld. Please don't waste money on this box set it is a waste of time. For fans of this so-called show why waste 54 dollars on this box set when TBS shows it for free.

Rating:5 out of 5 stars - Nothing Else Will Ever Compare
I have been a Seinfeld fan since I was turned on to the show after a friend suggested I watch "The Contest" my freshman year of college. Since then, like most fans, I have taped every episode I could, waiting for the day they would be available on DVD. Now, that the day has arrived, the waiting is well worth it. Besides, having immediate access to your favorite Seinfeld moments, the extras on the DVD set are spectacular. The gift box has ruined me from any other supposed, "Limited Edition", "Collectors Edition" DVD box set. There is no stone left unturned, and every little known fact a Seinfeld fan could want to know is awaiting you on this set. I have owned it for over a month now, and still have not tired of it. It is one DVD set you will view every night. Well worth any price. We can only hope for the same packaging, and attention to detail in upcoming series.
