Rating:5 out of 5 stars - cheers for players
While other reviewers have, fittingly, applauded the sharp, satirical scripts and brilliant slapstick of the Fab-four, the show's excellent supporting players in Season 4 also deserve kudos.

Bob Balaban's turn as Russell Dalrymple, (fictional) head of NBC, who is driven to an unfortunate demise in "The Pilot Pt. 2," trying to win Elaine's approval (an obsession caused by the sight of her cleavage in "The Shoes"), must have had actual NBC execs squirming.

Heidi Swedberg's dignified suffering, as George's ill-fated "love-interest" Susan, is a joy, playing one of sitcom's most beleaguered characters (being vomited upon, having her father revealed as bi-sexual, losing the family cabin in a Kramer-induced fire and unfairly sacked after kissing George). Note: Heidi mistakenly thought Kramer was Susan's intended beau for the first few episodes.

Estelle Harris, as George's crumpled, shrewish mother, Estelle - introduced in "The Contest" - and, from season five, Jerry Stiller's blustering father Frank Costanza, perfectly complemented, and made sense of, George's increasingly neurotic persona.

One of the finest character studies was Peter Crombie's menacing, and funny, portrayal of "Crazy" Joe Devola, particularly in "The Opera," which revealed his disturbing fascination with Elaine.

Liz Sheridan (Helen) and Barney Martin (Morty), as Jerry's parents, were impeccable throughout this season: "How could anyone not like Jerry?" - insisted Helen, which was countered by Morty's concern that "those damned culottes" Helen bought for Jerry as a boy, were the reason for Jerry being gay ("The Outing").

Wayne Knight (Newman) appeared as Kramer's (short-lived) sidekick in "The Ticket" and "The Old Man" before becoming, in Wayne's words, "Goldfinger to Jerry's Bond." Brilliant, as always.

These players added meat to the funny bone of the show.

Favourite episode in Season 4: "The Outing." No weak episodes, although "The Movie" ironically, seemed out of place, despite it being Season Four's best example of a "show about nothing"!

Rating:5 out of 5 stars - Cracks me up!! - and i DO have a brain!
This is by far the FUNNIEST T.V. show i have ever seen. With all these shows on now that try to be funny, and just cannot succeed... Seinfeld was truly an awesome show and took many risks! Yes... it was not a SMART comedy, but it was hilarious, and i truly enjoyed getting home from work and unwinding with some silly laughs. The plots were always extreme, and no, people dont really act like that in real life... that's why it's called a COMEDY show. To the person that gave it a 1 star review... it's fine if you dont like the show. You are free to express your opinion, but dont diss us who do enjoy it. I never watched the show because someone "told" me that it was funny, but because it really gave me a laugh! I would sit at home alone and crack up to it. Life is too serious, and that has always been something that i could count on Seinfeld for... not having a drop of seriousness! That was the charm of the show. If I would like to watch something serious i can watch the news. There is a reason why seinfeld was the top t.v. show of it's time!

Rating:5 out of 5 stars - Truly the best season!
This is a must have for any Seinfeld viewer, dedicated or not. This season is filled with some of the funniest episodes and moments that the show has ever had. This priceless collection is a great gift for a friend or just for yourself. In this season their is the emmy winning episode the contest; and other greats such as the junior mint, the handicapped spot, and the unforgettable bubble boy. If you are even remotely interested in buying this, you should because it is a good deal for such a fantastic season.

Rating:5 out of 5 stars - Lighten up!
Don't be so hard on "the Kid" - feel sorry for him. I'm sure his parents can't be easy to live with.
Kid! Lighten up or you will be living a boring life!
