Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - But there's good news! You CAN get original Nyquil again!
Like most other cold and allergy sufferers, I was miserable to find that Vicks reformulated Nyquil, my "go to" medication in the event of a bad cold, to remove pseudoephedrine, just so they could keep their product on the "over the counter" shelves. The new formula did not work for me at all. Worse, the packaging was practically identical to the original packaging, so it took me a while -- and $$$$ -- to realize that the REASON my beloved Nyquil wasn't working anymore was because the primary active ingredient had been removed. I was displeased, to say the least. And even more annoyed at the time to find that Vicks wasn't even OFFERING a version with the original formula that could be obtained from the pharmacist if you were willing to jump through the hoops of providing an ID and signing legal forms.

Thank you, Congress. I doubt taking effective cold meds away from non-junkies has done jack squat to solve the meth problem, but you sure have succeeded in making the rest of us miserable.

Anyway, I have another cold now, and went to my local pharmacy yesterday to show my ID and pick up some Drixoral -- only to find that since the last time I bought it, the company that makes it has taken it off the market to "reformulate" it, according to the pharmacist, since Drixoral sales had dropped so precipitously since it was removed from regular drugstore shelves and stuck behind the pharmacist's counter. Not AGAIN, I thought, and actually found myself wondering idly if I could ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - No longer the "TRUE" NyQuil.
Like many cold and allergy sufferers, I was hoping I could find the original formula of Vick's NyQuil that worked so well. I am annoyed at pharmacy and drug companies that reformulated their products to a less effective ingredient. Pseudophendrine was banned because it is commonly used to make "Meth" (a waste of time and money, just my opinion). My recommendation: Work with your doctor to have available the medications for the various cold & flu symptoms. It's nice to be able to take an "all-in-one" dosage, but better not to over-medicate yourself and separate your meds to fit your symptom(s). And of course, keep your meds away from children (and that "Meth" user hidden in your basement).

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - FALSE ADVERTISING
I purchased this product a few months ago because it said it had Pseudoephedrine in it. I can get the NEW product anywhere, but like the old Formula better, works better. So I ordered it, when IT came it was NOT what was advertised at all, it the NEW FORMULA. I will have to say the company did refund my money but assured me that they had contacted AMAZON to correct the ad, and that it would be pulled. I see that they are still FALSELY ADVERTISING this PRODUCT. SAME ON THEM AND AMAZON!!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - New formula is useless
Since they changed the formula & took out the psuedoephedrine, NyQuil is now useless. I learned this after I spent two days taking the stuff with no relief whatsoever. I finally went to my pharmacist who told me that NyQuil changed their formula. She sold me some Advil Cold & Sinus which is working pretty well. Shame on you, NyQuil!!!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Wasn't broke, why'd they "fix" it.
NyQuil's been my cold/flu med of choice for at least the last ten years. I've gladly dragged myself to the store to pick a bottle up when I've felt completely lousy, and had alternatives on hand because I KNEW that it would alleviate my symptoms w/o leaving me feeling loopy or "hungover". Sadly, those days are no more. Since they've changed the formula and removed the psuedophedrine, NyQuil's pretty much worthless :(

I am really disappointed after having spent $7 on a bottle, and not even getting slight relief. I would gladly suffer through the minor hassle of having to approach a pharmacist to get NyQuil from behind the counter if the old formula was available, but I'll take efficiency over convenience when it comes to my health, and will definitely be seeking out another brand.
