I recently just purchased the 299e after doing some research on compact ellipticals. I have a small apartment, and could afford an 800+ version, but they're way to heavy and bulky. The assembly was clear and easy to follow. It came with extra lubricant for the ellipticals joints. So far this product is sturdy, very compact at 42" total length , and a great workout! I don't want to write this in haste, since i just bought it; but compared to other versions in other brands, I can tell by far it's the better choice. If you're tall, I don't recommend, as the stride is only 15", but the rear magnetic resistance is more fluid and natural than frontal versions... so far
1. Sturdy even at 84 mere lbs!
2. Complete quality for your money
3. Quiet! If it starts squeaking I'll know to put more lubricant on the pedals etc... (which hasn't yet)
4. Perfect for petite people, taller should get 17" or longer stride version.
