I love the look of this dress on me, but I'm not allowed to wear it in public until I'm a senior in high school, because my mom says it's way too clingy. If you want to buy this dress, I say don't get it unless you are allowed to wear clingy stuff, or you like to wear clingy stuff.

If you want to go out and Salsa the night away, this is the dress for you. Even if you don't have that hip sway thing down pat, the ruffle on this dress will make people think you're a star.

Ok I've shopped online before without major problems but this dress was horrible.
1) i wear a size 12 like the other reviewer, and i'm also 5'6" but the dress was too short on the short side. Also it was WAYYYYY to tight on my hips and butt. I think that according to the size i bought (1x) I would have needed a 3x.
2) the halter is cut too low in the back, and doesnt cover enough of my c cup cleavage. Dont get me wrong, i'm not a prude. I often wear things too tight, short and clingy for my own good. but this was too much even for me!
3) the fabric was not like in the photo. Its dull and mostly spandex. The ruffles don't fall right at all.
4) if you're plus size, skip this dress. it wont fit you and is too tight in all the wrong places. you also cant wear a normal strapless bra with it, you have to wear one with a plunging back.
5)the only good thing about this was the price. its a good bargain.
I would only recommend this dress for someone without curves. Also buy a size bigger than you originally intended to. If its too big you can always take it in a little, but if its too small you're stuck with it.
I'd say don't waste your money like i did. Buy the rust colored "silk charmeuse dress" from newport news, or the "beaded mesh pleated slip dress" which the size is more accurate and its much more flattering.

Overall, I'm pleased with the dress. I wear a women's 12 and seemed to be on the border of the 1X and 2X. I bought the 1X as I am going to use this as a New Year's dress and so could get away with a "sexier" look. While a 12 is often considered "big", I enjoy my curves and don't mind the occasional clingy dress. There is some spandex in the dress, and so it does tend to cling and conform to one's shape. I think I would have had this clinginess even with the larger size. I am fairly buxom with a D cup, and the halter top managed to cover everything quite well with none of the "side cleavage" that can sometimes occur with halter style tops. The halter ties in the back with a sheer material like the ruffle, and it makes a pretty, feminine drape down the back. The ruching is at the left hip, but spreads out over the tummy which is nice, although I would have preferred more "centralized" ruching.
The bottom ruffle is pretty, if a bit darker than the main body of the dress, and moves well. I am 5'6" tall, and the short side of the ruffle hits me at the top of the knee with the longer side of the ruffle around mid calf. Since this dress is quite clingy, it was nice to have some added length. For me, tight *and* short would be too much.
The fabric did look more sturdy in the photo, and I can see that this will be a hand wash, no-dryer item. I don't think I would have bought it at full price, but it is a decent deal at the sale price.

The dress looks awesome in the picture. Totally cute, but horrible on. It's extremely stretchy and clingy which means it shows everything possible. Dresses like this just should not be worn by big people, if you know what I mean. I was very dissapointed. On the bright side it was delivered super fast, was at my door in 3 days.
