Cut through the static with ClearScan--your TuneCast will automatically (and quickly) scan the FM spectrum to find a clear frequency at the push of a button. Avoid the frustration of manually finding a clear FM station. When find a couple of favorites, store them with the two programmable preset buttons.
The TuneCast's high-contrast backlit display provides high visibility, and its small size offers flexibility in placement. The device is powered by your car's cigarette lighter/power outlet, and it charges your iPod while you enjoy your music.
The included PRO setting can make your music sound louder and fuller by decreasing the amount of attenuation in the audio signal. Professional FM stations use dynamic compression to make music louder and fuller while limiting distortion. You can use the three PRO settings on your TuneCast Auto to add dynamic compression to your audio, thereby optimizing audio and boosting volume.

If you live in the rural outlying areas of any city, this product would probably work for you. If you live in a relatively populated city, finding an open clear channel is very daunting. If you happen to find one with a minimal amount of static, it won't last long, it will be overrun with a stronger signal from another broadcasting station. Not to mention, having to hang the cord from the sun visor since it seems to act as an antenna for the unit. I only keep this unit for long drives through the desert on the way to Vegas, otherwise, I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

I have had constant trouble finding a station that this weak transmitter could even play music. My friend had a different transmitter in his car about 5ft from me and I could catch his on a station that mine wouldn't even break the static on... so unless you live way out in the countryside don't buy this. Also the auto tuner will find the strongest station half the time... cool idea IF it worked.

I have owned 2 of these cords (lost one last year in a rental car and had to replace), and I was impressed for the first couple of months. The cord did not hold up well at the connection points over time. It kept slipping out of my iPhone, which meant I had to reset the thing over and over during a ride. Forget about finding a permanent station on the tuner to listen to if you are driving along the east coast between DC and NY because of the limited number of consistent, dormant stations along the way. Frequency is mediocre if you are just riding around in one area. The amount charged for this item is a waste of money and buys plenty of frustration.

Unlike everyone else, I use this in my car every day and have no problem with it. If I go from one suburb to a suburb that is five away, I may have to change fm station but that is the only fussing with it that I have to do. It is very easy to change as the device finds the station for you. My teen supermarket bag guy saw me using it in my car with my iphone and asked me how I liked it and I said I loved both and used them all the time. I also use it with my ipod. I do live in the Greater Cleveland-Akron metropolitan area and so maybe we have a lot of fm stations with good reception. I have no idea about that aspect. I do not travel for work so I have not taken this out on the open road for covering lots of miles in isolated areas. So for someone like me who does daily driving in a suburban area which is part of a major metro area, it has worked perfectly.
